So I go here based upon a Facebook marketplace post that they put up featuring a beautiful orchid plant for sale. Ad says they have "many more" like it to choose from. So I get there and see this orchid advertised but!!!! It's not for sale. The old Japanese lady behind the counter says they have other ones but much much smaller for sale. These orchids only had leaves and not flowers as advertised in the posting. So I immediately think to myself that this is a typical bait and switch operation. So I begin to question her on the care and proper placement of this orchid. Mind you before I asked her questions I admitted to her that I was not a professional plant guy, botanist, or arborist guru. So I wanted some tips on how to properly grow and care for this orchid. Long story short, she talked to me like I was the stupidest person on earth. Like I should've known that this species of orchids does not like direct sunlight, or the fact that it only grows in wood chips. Like I said, I was merely asking for tips to properly care and grow this orchid, and that I was no expert. Just a dude trying to buy a beautiful plant for my wife. Was a waste of time and gas going here. Went over to The Home Depot and got way better customer service from the young lady working the garden center. And guess what, it was cheaper and the orchid was nicer than the one at Kawamoto...

Came here upon the recommendation of a family friend during our stay in Oahu.

This place is massive and spread out over multiple buildings. They have a wonderfully large selection of plants, cuttings, succulents at varying stages of growth. It was quite a serene experience walking up and down the aisles in the vast garden checking out all the plants.

We visited this location specifically because they can have the agricultural stamp and are familiar in preparing the plants for air travel. After we selected our plants and succulent to bring home with us. We paid for the plants and the packing. Within 10min everything was packed in a sealed box ready for our flight the next day.

I can't recommend this place enough for their vast selection as well as the knowledge of the people working there. If you are in Oahu, have some time and looking for an unique gift or to add more flare to your garden this nursery is the...

Orchids and air plants … if you’re in search of either on Oahu, this is the place! Located deep in Palolo, the nursery is has different levels and the lower ones can be steep to get to but the main level has more than enough plants to suit most needs.

Prices are extremely reasonable compared to what you see at the big box home goods stores or even other commercial nurseries - $2-$3 for Tillandsia that typically go for $7-$8 elsewhere, for instance.

The orchids, however, are the show stoppers and it’s worth the drive just to see the many flowering varieties they have. I didn’t realize orchids can be fragrant until I stepped inside their showroom! In addition to the many potted varieties, they also sell many types of hanging varieties.

Wow! Randomly came across a FB ad for airplants and am so glad I visited! Tucked in the back of Palolo Valley, there are hundreds...maybe thousands, of airplants. Tons of different varieties, small and large, ranging from $3 to >$100. My daughter and I loved roaming the aisles and picking a variety of plants out. Highly recommend this local nursery - won't go anywhere else!

An oasis for us city dwellers! They have an amazing assortment of plants including the normal house/garden varieties, orchids, succulents, air plants, and exotics. The employees are knowledgeable and willing to stop their gardening chores to answer questions. Added plus: their prices are much more affordable than the garden shops in town!
