Swiss Maid Country Market — Local services in Hope

I went into this store last weekend and was very disappointed with the quality of the food I bought. I spent around $100 during this visit. The fried chicken lunch meat was slimy. The potato salad and ham salad bought had a foul smell. I bought frozen sausage and when I thawed it this morning, it was dark brown. It was clearly old. All of the food purchased had to be thrown away. I am very disappointed. They do not have a return policy, so you are just stuck with it. I used to shop here frequently years ago and was always happy with my purchases. I will not be going back. The quality has went down drastically. Also, just an FYI, they date their items with a number of the day of the year it is. I am assuming to confuse buyers. You have to literally add up how many days into the year you are if you want to know when “fresh” items are packaged. Unfortunately, all of the items I purchased were over 1.5 weeks old.

An absolute GEM in a small town.... reminds me of the lil market I used to love to peruse as a kidster back in the 70's in small town Palmerton PA, outside of Allentown while visiting relatives! Prices are great, service is great... you will gain a pound or two just from breathing in the wonderful aromas!!! Quality meats and produce... check out their huge fridge stock near the meat counter!!! Rolled butter, salads of all kinds, cream, etc... my fave store...

Swissmaid is Amazing! And I'm so blessed to only live 5 blocks away. I've never had anything from there that wasn't amazing. Service is great and comes with a smile. If your near Hope and haven't tried something from Swissmade you definitely need to. Even if your in Columbus, Edinburgh, or Shelbyville it would definitely be worth the drive. They seem to get really busy after 3pm through the week. I'm more then happy to wait for their amazing food...
