My wife and I had our monthly date night here, right before going to see a movie. We were skeptical, and were solely going on online reviews. In my wife's words: "This place looks like a hole in the wall!".
The environment was lively, and there were a couple tables full of patrons chatting, and a friendly waitress serving everyone's needs. We were told to choose a place to sit, which we hastily did. The seating was limited, but was comfortable with decent sized chairs. We received our drinks within 5 minutes, and were given the time we needed to order. After ordering, we struck up conversation with a neighboring table, and within 10-15 minutes, we got out freshly cooked food. We both ordered the Country Fried Steak.
I got the mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans, while my wife got the mashed potatoes, green beans, and fries. For 8.99 per dinner plate, the helpings were very generous. My plate was almost full to the rims with the food, and my wife's was as well (2nd plate was needed for her fries!). Our steaks were nice and thick cut, covered in homemade gravy, which was very delicious. We could tell everything made was made fresh, and if it wasn't, you could of had us fooled! Our waitress was prompt on drink refills, and most of the time, it was like magic (I didn't even notice her taking my cup!). We were offered dessert, but decline because were stuffed from the plentiful meal we had just ate. The chef (to my knowledge) came out and asked us how our meal was, and he was please to hear our response. We bought one of their homemade brownies to go (6''x6'', HUGE!), our order coming to 26 dollars including our meals, drinks, and the brownie. I left a 20 percent tip for her amazing customer service, and dropped some change in the chef's tip cup. As we departed, we were thanked for coming and asked to come back again, which we surely will soon. It set the night's mood for the good, and we couldn't have asked for a tastier meal and welcoming environment.
To conclude my review:
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Read moreOkay, short and sweet. Heard good things about this place and was back home for a visit last weekend with a large group. Came in to see how large the dining room was, in order to determine whether to order to go or have the group eat in. The decision was to leave and call for to go orders. At 6:20 I was told by staff the hours of operation are until 8:00 pm on Saturdays. I met with my group an took down all 19 orders to call in at 6:50. When I called I was told the grill and equipment had already been shut down and they were already closed. I decided to drive up there and arrived at 7:15 and the owner happened to be getting out of his vehicle. I felt like he should know that his staff closed down and missed out on this large order which by the menu prices would have totaled in a little over $240.00, (likely double the daily production). The owner told me he was the one who decided to close early as they weren't very busy. He could have cared less what I had to say and made that pretty clear. Customer service, I don't think so. Retail business thrives off of recommendations and word of mouth, my only advice to anyone is don't go, and if you decide to, better call ahead, but even that didn't seem to...
Read morepretty disappointed in my first visit to ah-ha. we got quite a bit to eat. three cfs, mozz. sticks, an order of apple butter biscuits, and three drinks. while stating our order, the lady at the register had no clue what i was saying. i told her one order of apple butter biscuits, but she gave & charged me for two. i also asked for large drinks (and even re-stated it a couple times to make sure i’d get large drinks), & i got the small size. i couldn’t tell she did either of these things because even once i got my receipt, the receipt only shows prices that the cashier typed in, not the items. overall the country fried steak meal was surprisingly bland, and although the green beans were good, they are overpowered by the onions they add in. also, the biscuits for the apple butter biscuits were sour tasting. i’m assuming it had something to do with the frying oil. the coleslaw was good, and so were the mozz sticks, but i wouldn’t get it again. im empathetic because i know they’re starting out, just hoping things will improve...
