TLDR: They enforce pace-of-play strictly and their rangers are rude and short-fused. The policies and prices ($51/cart) are comparable to a country club. Course isnāt very difficult was looking good after the flood damage a few years ago. Iām only giving 3/5 because Iāve had good experiences at this course in the past. The last time I was there was not a good one. This happened last summer (6/13/18 to be exact). After showing up to find they tore the clubhouse down and were operating out of a construction trailer, we found out that the price had gone up $10 from last year. Then as we are getting some practice putts in, we start getting yelled that we are supposed to be teeing off right now when our time wasnāt for another 10 minutes. He told us that they were going a little early today (we had not been informed of this prior to this point) and kept angrily ushering us to the tee box. This was also every member of my groupās first time out of the season, so we were all rusty and werenāt expecting to play well. We tee off rushed and it went poorly. The round goes on as expected until the ranger asked us to pick up the pace, which we did. On the 15th hole, the ranger was watching us from the fairway. One of our group hit a mulligan because we had no groups behind us for a hole and a half, and when we were making our way down from the tee box, the ranger come up berating us on how thereās a āone ball per player policyā which has never been advertised or mentioned, and that heād āasked us to pick up the pace once before and now has the authority to move us to the next holeā. We then pointed out that there was no back-up that we could see since there still wasnāt anyone one the green behind us, and asked about his āpolicyā while making the claim that we can golf how we want since we paid over $50 per person to play. He then asked if we wanted to be kicked off the course and for the remainder of this hole and the entire next hole, stayed with our group and told us all when to swing to āshow us the pace we are REQUIRED to play atā. He left us and we finished the round and all agreed to never come to this course again. They have many rules that arenāt mentioned anywhere online or at the course and have policies and prices comparable to a country club. And as a city owned, public golf course, this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCourse is fine, pace-of-play was not. Two stars because they wouldn't remedy it. It took us three hours to play 9 holes on a Monday afternoon. Not kidding. There were two foursomes ahead of us (together as a group) taking extra shots, taking extra putts, etc. After it took an hour to play 3 holes we called the pro shop and asked them to do something because groups were starting to back up already on the 4th hole.
A guy drove out from the Pro Shop and said it was company policy to not do anything about pace-of-play such as moving groups up a hole, letting us play through, etc. I have honestly never have heard of such a thing with all the issues with pace-of-play. Even when we stood there in the fairway watching the foursome playing around on the green, we asked, "Is there nothing you can do?" Nothing, he said and drove off.
By the ninth tee there were six, yes, 1,2,3,4,5,6 groups stacked up on the tee box. And we still had the back nine to play. It was impossible to finish (6 hours???) and rain was coming. They provided refunds for the round but not for the cart which didn't seem right.
So it is not a bad course but give yourself at least 5-6...

Donāt play at twilight. Took 3 of us 2 HOURS to play 8 holes. Ranger didnāt encourage pace of play, but instead, sent groups ahead of others that were also backed upā¦
I paid $34 to scroll on social media longer than I played golf. A suggestion for the future: STAGER YOUR STARTS BETWEEN HOLES 1 & 10. Or, donāt schedule tee times 8 mins apart. Flat out ridiculous.
EDIT: Took us 2.5 hours to play a full front 9. 3 groups stacked up on hole 9. Employee said ā2 hours is standard for 9 holesā - which in my experience, itās closer to 1.5 hours for 9. Theyāre expecting a 13-14 minute pace of play per hole but teeing people off every 8 minutes. Poor management and poor customer service on top of it - Clubhouse Manager was on the course when we complained once getting off. Removed a star. Unfortunately...
