I’ve stopped by this store out of convenience for last-minute items, but I’ve regretted it almost every time. On several occasions, I’ve brought home products that were spoiled.

During my most recent visit, I spoke with a manager about purchasing moldy sour cream. I explained that while I’m willing to pay more for convenience, repeatedly getting bad items makes it more worthwhile to drive to Appleton instead.

The manager, Sudy, completely missed the point. Rather than showing any empathy, she deflected responsibility and made excuses. She claimed their prices are comparable to Festival (which I don’t shop at either due to pricing) and suggested the sour cream could’ve come from the same supplier as Festival. Her response was dismissive and passive-aggressive.

Unfortunately, this is the only real option in Hortonville, but with recurring problems like this, I’m finding more reasons to just make the trip...

I was just in this store on Wednesday. There was a horrible smell by the potatoes. Had to be rotten bags. Knats flying around everywhere by them. It was disgusting. The hot dog buns in the bakery were all expiring the next day. I feel like I always have to check the dates in everything. And watch all the fresh produce for mold. I don’t know if it was just the day, but, it was such a turn off. If I’m going to pay the high prices for items in that store, I expect the store to be clean and item to be not expired or close to expiring. I’d give zero stars. Bought 2 week expired fruit dip yesterday. Went back today only to find that they left the remaining expired fruit dip (over 5 containers) on the shelf for other poor unsuspecting people to buy and eat. The amount of negligence and lack of concern for the health and well being of their customers is astounding. When asked why they left the expired fruit dip up knowing it was expired he told me that he couldn’t remove it, someone else had to. After some prompting he finally removed them.
