TL;DR, a scam of an auction with awful customer service.
As similar reviews have stated, this is not what it seems. After bidding on an item at a local bar to benefit The American Cancer Society, I was happy to receive a call I had won the photo. I completed the transaction and was excited for the shipment. Flash forward to a week or so later, I learn my husband bid $5 more than I did to surprise me with the photo - he was also called āas a winnerā. I called Community Auctions and asked about the hiccup, the woman on the phone was apologetic over the mistake (apparently not a mistake as everyone is a winner). When I asked about ways to make things right, she offered a refund. However, I opted to swap the item for something else to surprise my husband, after all, it was supposed to be for a āgood causeā. Everything made right, right? Wrong. Shipping is lengthy, my husbandās photo arrived probably 3-4 weeks after payment. A few days later the photo I swapped for arrived, and unfortunately was of the original auction item, NOT what I swapped it for over the phone. No big deal, I will give them another call. Iāve now left a message and called two days in row, only to be forwarded to voicemail each time with no call back. Iām so incredibly frustrated with this entire company and process and would never recommend any establishment to partner with them, due to the complete failure on Community Auctionās...

Coming across one of their tables, one would think they are bidding on what the company describes as "hand crafted replicas" through a silent auction. What you are actually looking at is mass produced cheap pictures that you name the price that you will be paying. There is very little indication of what type of process the "bidding" actually entails.
With how little is actually going to the represented organizations, you are better off doing these two things if you are set on spending that much on this memorabilia:
Look up the real price online, buy it there. Or go to a locally owned memorabilia store and buy a unique, autographed piece
Take the money saved on the piece and make a direct donation to the organization they are "supporting".
This will far benefit the groups who actually need the money and make sure your dollar goes much farther. You will feel better, and so will the...
