Village Villas has been exceptional to work with across the past 4 years that my golfing group has employed their services. The listing details and pictures have always been an accurate depiction of each property. The pricing has always been more than fair and there's a variety of price points from which to select a property that will work for any traveler's needs. Village Villas also takes care of all golf reservations in HSV which is a "nice" feature and offers "peace of mind" concerning "one less thing" that someone has to consider when booking a golf vacation. In terms of an "opportunity" to enhance service, I wish that later check out times were available [i.e. on a Sunday when one has a tee time @ 8AM yet has to return keys before tee off]. Similarly, in terms of "opportunity," it would be "nice" if a property could be released a little earlier than Noon if the property is clean and available [i.e. if someone has a 1PM tee time, it's a tad difficult to check into a property and make a tee time if the property can't be released until Noon]. Regardless of the "opportunities" mentioned, Village Villas is a fantastic business to utilize for HSV property rentals and is highly recommended.
If you're renting a property in HSV, my advice would be to always closely inspect pictures, descriptions and reviews [if available].
In fairness, there are some older properties that are available through Village Villas and they're likely going to be considered as "outdated" in terms of decor relative to "modern standards." However, when you're paying $125 per night for a four bedroom condo, someone ALSO needs to be "realistic" as you're simply not going to find a decent hotel at that price point and, even then, it will be a 1/4 of the space. These types of properties are CLEARLY listed on the company's website as "Budget" options.
It's also important to keep in mind that Village Villas does NOT own the properties which are made available through their website. As such, Village Villas is "beholden" to the "whims" of the actual property owner and that property owner's desire to ensure that their properties are maintained to acceptable standards.
While it's important to let Village Villas know about your rental experience [i.e. so they can pass along feedback to the actual property owners], it's also important to be "fair" in a review given the above information. As an example, I've seen "not so stellar" reviews of 12 Trevino Place. While the property is "dated," the pictures CLEARLY reflect as much [and it's also CLEARLY labeled as a "Budget" option]. For our recent stay, we had zero issues with the property and would be more than happy to stay...
Read moreThe rentals are not kept up at all. Why are there so many rentals with carpet in the bathroom? Can you say gross? A lot of the rentals still have box televisions; where did you purchase those nowadays....grandma's giveaways! The staff are completely unqualified and have no idea what is available and what is not. They are constantly referring everyone to the website since it looks like the last computer program they used was MS-DOS with a floppy disk. Kurt, whom is the owner is unfortunately the stereotype of what people from other states think of the people that live here. Instead of being an upbeat, modern, accepting gentlemen; he is a country, bible thumping, judgemental man that would rather preach about the "good old days" instead of expanding and re-branding his business. There are other options if you are looking for a rental in the wonderful "village." I would utilize Remax, Century 21, VRBO, or AirBnB for future travels. Don't get me wrong; Hot Springs Village is a beautiful, natural wonder that is not to be missed; just don't accommodate yourself thru Village...
Read moreWe were driving in to the village and called the business to get a day-of reservation for 2 nights. They ask if I have pets- I say I have a service dog. They ask the dog details- breed, size, etc. I know I don't have to tell them, but I did. They said they need the manager and will call back. They call back 20 minutes later. Manager says- 'I am reading from the ADA site the 2 questions I am allowed to ask you.' He asks, I answer. He asks what type of medical alert. I said anxiety and hearing assist. He says 'how does the dog help you hear?' in a condescending tone. I tell him. He doesn't believe me. Then he said he doesn't have a place with the size beds we wanted- when the previous lady said they did. My impression is that he didn't want to deal with the service dog, but didn't want a lawsuit. I am disgusted by the discrimination. We told him this trip was an emergency visit for my grandmother in a health crisis- he didn't care, bhe was still rude, unaccomodating, and broke the law. Instead of a lawsuit I don't have time for I am leaving a...
