Absolutely the best pork ribs I've had in my life. Make your way to Burl's and step back into a slower paced time. The slow rolling smoke coming from the small stack is a siren song to your nose. We also had the brisket, but as a fan of Texas brisket, was slightly disappointed. The generous amount of sauce had a sweet flavor which might have been molasses, but I couldn't say for sure. The made in house sourdough bread is delightful. Good mustard potato salad, good beans. Had a slice of cheddar on the side. Will definitely be back for a sandwich. You can choose from a variety of in house meats. There's also a slab of bacon you can have have cut and take some home, along with sausages and jerkey. We bought a har of tomato pickles to have on the side. Definitely a nice addition and will be delicious at home. Grabbed a small piece of Granny's Fudge with a pecan to finish off the meal. The store/restaurant also has lots of Native American and early US artifacts and photos. It's worth stopping in just to look around. But I still...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem for anyone who knows gems in hot springs. It’s not the best bbq, but it is the best smoked lunch meats and cheeses from the deli. Have them make you a sandwich where you can pick three meats. I like the smoked ham, pastrami and corned beef combo- it’s phenomenal and smoky and flavorful, with all the veggies and horseradish and mustard- PERFECT and thick. The shop is a lot of fun and so much to look at, inside and out. Great for fun unique photos and a favorite stop for locals for expensive delicious smoked beef jerky. I like to stop here to get sandwiches for hiking and swimming close by, it’s a perfect pit stop and may as well get some goodies like the homemade cinnamon rolls that are as big as a plate or some homemade sourdough bread, even Amish goods and everything pickled your heart could desire. Fun stop no matter what your craving, they even have nachos...
Read moreWe had brisket sandwiches with potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw. They gave us jerky samples, which were okay. The sauce was really, really salty. And I like salt! I cannot say whether or not the brisket was cold then microwaved, because we went to sit down to wait. The potato salad was good, the baked beans were surprising - more savory than sweet, and I personally don't like the sweet. We did get a cinnamon roll to go, and it was pretty good - just very loaded with cinnamon sugar, which was a bit much for me but others may like that. If we go back, it might be for one of their other sandwiches or their bread. The decor was interesting and the store portion had a lot of different country goodies like pickled eggs, jams,...
