The Floor Store — Local services in Hot Springs

My husband and I decided to hire The Floor Store in Hot Springs not because of their reasonable prices because from several estimates we got around town they we're the highest priced, but when we went into their showroom the owner and other sales guy seemed pretty friendly, it was a "company" versus other "self contractors" we got estimates from we assumed since The Floor Store is a licensed company, family owned and local we would get the quality job we wanted and the best service. Didnt work quite like we thought it would, first of all they gave us a time frame of 2 weeks max before they could start our job, it took about 1 month, I had to call their office to get an update because I didnt get a call from anyone, Just like in the previous review didnt get the customer service or finished product to justify the high cost. They had 2 different crews come in, the first crew I want to say was a little more professional and friendly but yet wouldnt show up til 9-10 am, alot of wasted time they could of finished 3-4 days before but last crew was just lazy (we have video cameras inside our house) and would watch throughout the day the type of work they did. The salesman initially said they we're going to replace the entire baseboard at the end they only replaced the quarter round. Considering this is not the only house we have put tile too, we have seen different crews and different ways of working. They did not mention all the options we had, for example I asked on the last day if they we're going to put a sealer they said "oh you never mentioned that" well shouldnt you explain all the different options we have?? I had another project to do at our house after The Floor Store would finish installing our tile, the contractors I have now had to remove part of the baseboards to do part of the project and they pointed out what a lack of work the floor store did, when removing the baseboard theirs a big gap between the tile and the wall, which it could of been prevented if they would of taken the baseboards out like they said to begin with and install the tile against the wall correctly, now we will run thru a problem of getting bugs, or water thru that gap, with time it will become a problem. Not happy!! I could of use them to put backsplash in my kitchen and changing the carpet in bedrooms but definitely will not use them again nor do I recommend them. We got work done in 2018. A couple of months after the bathrooms were done I had to call a plumber because our plumbing was stopped up by all the excessive grout that wasn’t sealed in the tile. I reached out to the floor store called and also outreach to my sales rep and did not hear anything back. Along with a few other issues I kept getting “we will give you a call back or I’m out of the office I’ll have to give you a call back” I have not received any calls. I finally went in person to speak to the owner and I was told if I couldn’t leave a message with my name and number that not to be expecting a call back. I’ve had nothing but issues trying to contact them to get them to fix the work that needed to be fixed. Now within 3 1/2 years i’ve had to get my main plumbing line replaced my plumbing in my bathroom replaced twice, because of all the grout that is coming out of my shower. This is not including problems that I’m having with my cabinets and other title work after we spent $47,899.78 plu with a company you think that they would contact you back. They installed new quartz counter tops for us and did a beautiful job. But I would not recommend based on their communication style. I was quoted 3-4 weeks and it was 7 weeks before installation. I had to call twice to get a status on the job. We originally went with The Floor Store out of the Hot Springs Village location because they do remodel work as well. We bought a new home and thought it would be convenient to find someone to do a few jobs for us. We had them come out to measure for the new counter tops and a new porch. We never got a quote in writing for the porch. I was quoted over the phone a price for the 'porch of my dreams' but never got any more information on what that entailed, despite asking to receive it.

UPDATE: We discovered a leak under our new kitchen sink a few months after install. I had to CALL FOUR TIMES over the course of two weeks before their plumber came out. He was here for a few minutes and tightened a bolt. The leak continued. I didn't want to deal with The Floor Store again, so I had someone else fix the leak.
