*posting on google reviews as well since absolutely no attempt has been made to remediate my experience.

My experience with this salon was truly heartbreaking and extremely disappointing.

I came in asking for an all over highlight. Not a huge fan of the baby light technique so I asked for chunky-er pieces. I've never had issues in the past as I've had money pieces, etc. I was under NO impression that it was a "color correction" or that it needed a multi step process. I know little about color so I followed who I thought was the "expert"

For almost $400, I received a five hour gruesome appointment, two hours which I was stuffed at the wash bowl and when I went to the bathroom I saw my hair was actually orange, where my stylist told me "it's not done yet".

I'll post photos, but the after was not at all what I was wanting. The salon light was super deceiving and I was trying to be nice and respectful so I even shared a filtered photo to make my stylist feel better.

After I washed it I was absolutely horrified. I genuinely don't think my hair had ever looked so bad. It had a weird yellow tint with a little green and there was patches EVERYWHERE. It looked rushed and honestly like I tried to do it at home.

After trying to be nice, I went to the owner to fix it. After an in depth conversation, we agreed on a darker color to blend the yellow on top. After I drove (almost an hour there and back - spent a whole tank of premium gas on this experience) and getting dirty looks from the other stylist on the way to my second appointment, it looked the same if not worse and more washed out after. And I paid almost $400.

After missing one of my good friends birthday on a Saturday after crying all day about how bad my hair was, I reached out to the owner politely asking to fix it. She refused unless I paid for MORE bleach and then ghosted me.

No refund, no nothing. Now I have to pay even MORE for a color correction after my hair has been completely ruined. I really tried to be as nice and respectful because I completely understand that things happen, but I was beyond screwed over on multiple levels.

I would highly recommend against this salon and will be sharing my experience...

Unfortunately like another reviewer, my experience at ERA was very disappointing. I went in requesting a full highlight. After a couple bad experiences in the past, I was very specific about what I did and did not want. I even showed several pictures of myself in the past when I have loved my hair and when I have hated it.

I specifically said I do not want a shadow root. Emily then asked me why and I told her because another stylist had done that to me before and I hated it - she insisted and said “well I’ll just do a small one.” I was trying to be nice and respectful and trust the owner of the salon, so I just did not say anything to argue.

It proceeded to be a 5 hour long appointment, during which there were several comments made about how long it was taking. They were seemingly made in a joking manner, but this made me feel extremely uncomfortable because I felt like a burden to her and my hair was the problem because it was taking too long.

She did in fact add the shadow root and when I turned around to see my hair’s final result, I was immediately shocked by how dark and ashy it was when I specifically asked for “bright summer blonde” (with pics to back it up).

After 5 hours and paying over $500, I went home and was upset for days. I never complain about my hair, but I actually hated my hair and it was bothering me a great deal. I finally reached out and told her I didn’t feel like she listened to me about the color or shadow root at all and in fact, the cut was about an inch shorter on one side too! She was apologetic and did offer for me to come back in and she would fix it, which I obviously appreciate and feel a stylist should do, but I could not have been more specific or clear the first time, so I had completely lost all trust in her as a stylist and requested a refund instead. She balked at this and hesitated, but eventually did apply a very small refund for the toner and shadow root, which is exactly what I didn’t want to begin with. But there was no refund for the uneven cut.

Overall, I just did not feel listened to at all at this salon and unfortunately would not recommend...

She is exceptionally detail-oriented and task-driven and has always provided me with exceptional service. If you are looking for an experienced and skilled stylist who provides exceptional service, I highly recommend Emili Brown at ERA Beauty Lounge. I assure you that you will not regret it!
