This easily had to be the worst experience moving I have Ever had from beginning to end ! First off they quoted me 5500 it ended up being 9000, that’s ok doing a phone quote is difficult so that I can Deal with, that was only the beginning of my problems unfortunately. When I initialy paid the 1700 deposit , I was Told they would come get my belongings on the 28th or 29th, they did arrive on the 28th as promised . This is where it all goes bad, the foreman , which is a roadrunner employee which I later found out was actually hired by charter to pack and move my things was unprofessional and very rude. They forgot to pack a whole closet of linens, and also did not pack a portion of my kitchen supplies , also I later foumd Out that they removed all of my handbags and shoes ( Louis Vuitton , Gucci, Collectors Jordan’s , Versace and louboutins ) from their boxes that they were kept in, In order to make space for more stuff. It gets worse from this point , I was Told my things would be leaving St. Louis on Thursday when in fact they went to a warehouse and sat for 9 days . During this period I have Never seen such terrible customer service not only On charter van lines end but also road runner moving who they hired to pack and load my things, I was Hung up on 2 times and told basically to get over it. 6 days after they packed my Things I finally Received a phone call about my items left behind , they said they would come Back for them, mind you this is April 2nd now , and I’m in Las Vegas at my new home, I left On the 29th because charter also had my vehicle shipped and It was arriving on that following Saturday so I had to be there to sign for my car and pay. They told me that since they could not get my items from my old house that a new tenant moved into on April 1st, that it was my fault they were left and there’s nothing I can Do about it. Fast foward to April 12th , my stuff has arrived to Las Vegas this day. The first thing out the truck drops and it was a mirror of Course, that was only the beginning , the movers had stuff leaking and spilled all over everything, 30% of my belongings , my dining room table has missing parts , my queen bedroom downstairs has 3 of the posts broken and 1 drawer damaged , the piece to attach the mirror is missing , the slats and screws are missing for my daybed , my king bedroom set has chipped wood on head board and footboard , and 2 pairs of louboutins only has 1 shoe , spikes are damaged and missing on another pair , road runner moving as well as charter van lines are both responsible and are not doing anything . They are the rudest and most unprofessional group of people I have Ever had to deal with! Do not use this company do your research ! They are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with as a business owner myself I would Never speak to a client in this manner, over 10k in damages and lost items and nobody...
Read moreAVOID this moving company. Here are some facts we experienced when we tried to move our belongings from A to B, with one month storage in between.
When picking up our household items: movers arrived 1 hour late, we received no notification they started to wrap everything in blankets (although I told them certain items are not fragile at all) - as a result they ran out of blankets and used shrink-wrap to "protect" the last pieces of furniture... they forgot to number our items with their stickers and realized after half-way done, so had to stop loading the truck and put stickers on what was already loaded... which took forever. One guy grabbed the tips I prepared from my hand, saying "I'll take care of that". Unexpected. I hope he shared with his two colleagues. Overall very inefficient, I had to wrap and load stuffs myself to stay within the estimated time
After one month of storage, at the time of planning delivery: They sent an invoice, and requested to pay it before delivery. The amount was much higher than the "Not-to-exceed" price agreed on the signed quote (although we stayed within the estimated time when loading). When calling to protest, they admitted they input the wrong number of hours for loading and warehouse handling (sic). But even after this correction the total cost was still 50% more than the "Not-to-exceed" price we agreed on. We were still contesting, claiming that they should stick within the agreed price ("not-to-exceed" already includes a 10% contingency). So they required us to pay CASH for the services they rendered so far to "release" our items, and to contract another company to have our stuff delivered to B. Unbelievable.
Having our items HOSTAGE in their warehouse and running short of time, we decided to comply so we can have our items released and organized the delivery ourselves. Overall, the service provided by this company is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and their management is extremely DISHONEST. They obtained our business by sending a nice sales guy to our place to make a competitive quote. I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews before I contracted this company; we are not the first ones who had this terrible and stressful experience.
Hopefully some will find it useful before contracting a moving company, especially if they obtained an appealing quote...
Read moreWe were given a quote for the move. We made a list of all furniture even detailing the number of drawers on the dressers. We questioned the number of boxes and were told the number was just for estimate purposes and assured that the move would not cost more than the quote. We were told the packers would come on Thursday and the movers would arrive on Friday. The packers arrived on Wednesday and loaded all furniture forcing us to leave 2 days early. When they loaded about half of our items on the truck, we were then told that it would cost us $2,000.00 more for them to load the rest of our furniture. We did not have enough money to pay for everything to go. We had to give away a good portion of our furniture and many items to neighbors. Many items on our list were not loaded. We were told our furniture would arrive the following Monday. It has been 2 weeks and a couple of days. We just got a call at 9:p.m. telling us our furniture will be delivered tomorrow. We were also told it was going to cost an additional $800.00. We have tried calling this company many times throughout this move. No one answers after they get some of your money. They can’t give honest answers on timelines or dollar amounts. Having moved many times in a lifetime, this was by far my worst experience. BUYERS BEWARE!!! My nightmare is...
