I own a 2009 R35 GT-R with about 15,500 miles now in Jan 2018. I needed a shop to do the 18000-mile maintenance (transmission fluid, differential fluid, engine oil, coolant flush, brake flush, etc.) and replace tires. I found the Shop Houston by Google search and read very positive reviews about it. I am always a picky and careful person, with poor experience from other places previously. I went to the Shop Houston to check it out and gave it a try. I met the owner David and the team. He went over the history of his company and his team. I immediately noticed how knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic they are truly with the generations of GT-Rs and heavily modded Japanese cars. For example, they are capable of swapping engines among different cars and making a 2500-hp race GT-R. The atmosphere is really relaxing. It’s like the heaven of GT-Rs. I felt very impressed right away with this place that I can trust. David and the team gave me great advices about the choice of tires and parts based on my driving habits. Since it was a Saturday appointment, they managed to accompany me most of the time, which allowed me to stay close with my car as much as possible, and went over the maintenance procedures and the parts/fluids to be used, which truly made me so relieved and worriless that my car would be taken great care of. They even have an experienced Japanese mechanic, who did this 18000-mile maintenance for my GT-R. He was very detailed and cautious in every step (the Japanese style that reminded me of a sushi chef making sushi), taking time to drain/flush the fluids, removing/install the under panels, etc. What else can I ask for? I’m so blessed to have these guys available in the Houston area to support my GT-R maintenance and potential future modification. The Google reviews are absolutely true. They are not an average shop with the attitude of hiding stuffs behind the closed doors, cutting corners, and just making money. They are professional and big on transparency. They have the mindset of understanding what the customers need, making practical assessment of what we really should have, communicating with us clearly for what they are going to work on, and taking a big step forward to work with us. I really had fun and enjoyed hanging out with these guys over there. Thanks for the note David wrote and his kind thoughts explaining that I ended up staying a bit longer for the maintenance work at the Shop than expected. So my wife was cool and wasn’t mad at all :) After all, I know my GT-R is getting the great quality of work and attention...

I looked for a shop to tune my 2018 WRX STI for a while and was directed to Kozmic. I bought my AP from them and had an odd experience from a customer service standpoint but everyone vouched for them so I reached out for a quote to have some parts installed and a pro tune. At the suggestion of a good friend I also hit up The Shop Houston for a quote. Not only did The Shop Houston get back to me in a timely manner, but they made me feel like family. I spoke at great length with both Kaina and Vaughn about the path I wanted to take with my car and they were very upfront and honest with me. They told me what their biggest suggestions were and even told me some of my plan was unnecessary for my end goals. The fact they talked me out of spending money I was going to spend because it wasn't necessary shows just how customer focused they are. They showed me around their shop and told me about each car they were currently working on and I met some of the other customers as well. As far as the tuning is concerned, Keith from AWDtuning in Dallas entrusts the shop to partner with his shop for Subaru tuning. That says everything I need to know right there. Keith dialed in my tune and was very thorough to the point he had me test drive the car and give my input and he tweaked it because he thought he could make it a little more precise. While waiting on some final adjustments there were other customers there that shared their experiences and projects with The Shop Houston with me. After everything was done, Vaughn made sure to see me off and invite me to come by any time to hang out and reminded me that I was a part of their family now. When I told him I would see him again in a few weeks when I have more parts to add and to refine the tune he told me, “Man, come by before then and just hang out with us, I mean that.” The Shop Houston exceeded my expectations and earned my business from Kozmic which I was actually only a few days away from pursuing. Any shop can install parts and have a quality tuner. However, this type of business isn't just about what you can do under a hood. The Shop Houston beats out the competition under the hood and face to face in customer service. 10/10 and I will definitely be back once I have my next set of mods to install as well as any time I just want to be around a great set of gearheads and talk...

I have owned my 2009 GTR since 2019 and after contemplating how I would maintain the vehicle long term, I knew this wasn't a car I wanted to tinker with like my many others. After some research and due diligence I called The Shop Houston to inquire about their services. When I tell you they had me at 'Hello' you would think I made it up. After speaking to Kaina West and Vaughn Simon knew these were car guys and that they ran a customer focused and most important HONEST business. When integrity counts and workmanship is key, The Shop Houston is the answer. I basically hit the jack pot of performance shops after becoming a customer for 'life'. It's difficult to find the right people and the right performance shop with the best expertise and The Shop Houston hits all those items all at once.

I followed another YouTube Channel even before I purchased my GTR cause I was in the market for a 370Z. That channel is Admin Tuning where it follows a no-nonsense World Renowned Tuner by the name of Moncef Faik. If you're in the automotive world then his name is legendary. Just so happens he tunes the GTR's rolling through The Shop Houston and I was lucky enough for him to tune my as well.

Since becoming a customer in 2020 my car has gone from the stock 485HP to 800HP. There was never any pressure from The Shop Houston to push me into anything and the team was always patient with me and explaining the what's and the why's to my tiered build. I never went in all the way and they stepped me through my different HP builds.

The Shop Houston has built a world wide presence, but they function like your trustful, honest local town mechanic. It must be difficult to run some of the fastest GTR's in the world and still have a bedside manner to work with even the most modest car enthusiasts.
