The weekend my husband and I stayed at this location, it was sort of a mini-staycation of sorts to getaway to recoup and explore. This hotel is decently sized and the facility is very well kept from what we could see upon arriving. ||||Both the rooms we stayed in were comfortable, however the second room we were in (we requested to be moved due to the other guests impoliteness) smelled like a hobo had been lounging around. More so around the kitchen sink area but if you turned the air off the smell would permeate the room. Maybe there was a leak some where that left mold or mildew? Or perhaps the air conditioning unit needed to be maintained. Either way, I did share this with the front desk and I got the feeling they'd look into the room and fix it up promptly so I hope that was the case.||||While the majority of the guests that were staying with us in the hotel were silent there were a few rowdy and impolite guests. Specifically at night when the pool hours clearly indicated no one should be using the area. Which by the way is relatively small, considering the amount of rooms available and the capacity there should be another pool available. ||||Breakfast the first morning was disgusting. I hate to say it but it tasted and looked like literal wet dog food. I'm not sure what they were going for in terms of their hashbrown mix but it left a lot to be desired. The second day the options available were more palatable and appreciated. ||||We didn't get to use the pool as we had hoped. This was partly due to the fact that every time we considered going there were too many folks swimming in such a small pool area. ||||The only issue we truly had aside from the rude guests that were sharing the space with us was the fact that on the first night when we were awoken to kids screaming and shouting. We were told some nonsense about them being a part of a little league team. Which is great and all but the fact remains we were also paying customers and the time for these children to be out of the pool had come and gone. We should not have been met with any sort of hostility when asking for something to be done regarding the noise by the front desk. Otherwise, the majority of the staff were friendly and approachable. Some not so much but they still did their jobs which is all we could ask for and was appreciated. ||||If you're planning on checking out the area, please be advised you will need to drive twenty plus minutes in either direction to get to anything and most of the options available are not all that enticing. ||||Probably a better fit for people passing through the area given the experience I had.||||I give this location a 3.5 rating seeing as the location itself is kept up and the staff (even the few who might be disgruntled) did their best to keep the peace and help keep our stay decently...
Read moreI cannot stress enough, how DISAPPOINTED I was with my stay, at this Houston I-10, Beltway 8, Staybridge.
Let me begin with arrival, approximately 2:15 pm, requesting a slightly earlier check-in (check-in was 3pm), I was told there were NO ROOMS READY, NOT ONE.... Ok, I know I was a bit early so, that was fine. Unfortunately, I was in town for an activity, so since I couldn't check in early, I had to head straight to the event, which meant I would now have to check in late. I later called the hotel and informed them of my late check. Upon check in, approximately 9:30pm now, I asked about the grab and go breakfast for the next morning. I was advised, by Malak, there would be Jimmy Dean's sausage biscuits, muffins, yogurt and juice.
Upon arrival to our room, my daughter went in to use the restroom and found long black hairs on the towels. She went down to the front desk a little later to report this and exchange the towels and was told by the gentleman who was now on duty, there were no more large bath towels available so we would have to be given Beach Towels (we were given blue/white striped Beach Towels in line of Bath Towels). Additionally, throughout the night, we were awakened by the ceilings light fixture/shade, rattling, every time the guest above us walked across their floor, which was often, throughout the late night and early morning hours. So, since we were already up early, we decided to head down for the grab and go breakfast, only to be handed a bag containing an ice cold muffin, room temperature fruit cup and a room temperature bottle of water. I asked Malak, about the Jimmy Dean's sausage biscuit, juice, etc. she told us about at check-in, and she said they were waiting for their delivery which would not come in until next week. At this point I was over it and ready to check out. We headed back to the room, only for the key to no longer work. My daughter went down to the desk, while I waited outside the room with the grab and go bags. She was given two new keys, only to return to the room and have those not work either. At this point we both went back down to the desk and were told the battery had likely died on the lock so Malak came up with us to let us in with her Master Key. At this point I was completely over this entire stay and we immediately finished packing and checked out.
This is NOT at all what I'm accustomed to nor what I've come to expect from Staybridge. I understand that we are still dealing with the pandemic but even given that, these were not issues that can be attributed to the...
Read moreby far my worst experience in an IHG property. Mostly this was directed at the front desk staff. Arrived at 3:30pm on a Saturday to check in with my confirmation number. I was asked my name and, after checking, was told I did not have a reservation. I said I can give you the number, she took it and said I did not have a reservation. Showed her the reservation confirmation on my phone to which she replied...."are you sure you have the right hotel". I repeated the name and address on the reservation which was the correct hotel. She then turned the computer monitor around to face me and prove I did not have a reservation. Then I pointed to the name at the top of the list and identified it as mine. She replied that I told her a different name and that's why she could not find it. WHAT?! She then told me they only had 2 cleaning people show up and my room was not ready but she would check me in. After that, she would not give me the room keys in case I forgot the room was not ready yet and went to it anyway. IS THIS A JOKE? So we ate and came back. Upon return there were 2 people at the desk, one checking in and one trying to get 2 issues resolved he had been dealing with for a couple of days. 1-batteries for his TV remote and 2-his smoke detector light was blinking brightly above his bed at night and keeping him awake. Both of which she replied she could not help him with, but would make a note. In the middle of this I asked if she could just hand me my room keys and I was told I would have to wait. After she made the note for the man, she made my keys. We proceeded to the elevator to go to our room on the 3rd floor. There was a sign that the elevator was not working for the 3rd floor. Was I being punished? We hoofed it up the stairs to our room. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. My only complaints about the actual room were the bathroom was not completely clean and the temp would not get as cool as I would like. Both of which I would have overlooked had I not been handled with such disrespect at...
