Read moreMailed envelope by PRIORITY MAIL on January 3,2024 & has been sitting in this distribution center since January 5th “in transit & delayed delivery” status. Today is January 20th and the final destination post office in Huntsville thankfully called me to let me know that my mail has not arrived & still stuck at this distribution center for no reason provided & stated this is the “normal” disfunctional standard of business practice allowed. This has been allowed to continue to happen despite the release of an internal investigation published by the post office inspector general recently. The report results are unbelievable & the excuses by the managers provided in the report are simply a failure to perform their jobs & have no accountability to the leadership at the USPS. No mitigation or solutions were published in the report & it was just an acknowledgment by the IG stating they are aware of the HUGE business operation problems. After reading the report, I say “NOW WHAT”! What do we do as customers who have paid for priority services or even the price of a postage stamp and when our mail is being held hostage! This is the 3rd priority mail that I have had stolen, delayed, or lost in the past 6 months. There should be legal action against the post office allowed to operate fraudulently by taking our money for services that are not being performed. The leadership-is aware of the TOTAL DISFUNCTION of business operations in this distribution center and has ignored the problem. Maybe if the media reports this to the public, something will be done to fix the problems NOW. It’s a shame that we have to use a private carrier to ensure our mail is delivered as promised & purchased. I wonder how many of the USPS inspectors or leadership use this distribution center. I would bet it would be a low number or they may be using private...
Read moreOriginally College Station-Bryan weekend mail was sent here as part of the USPS savings program and we were told their bigger facility & manpower would improve local service. We soon learned only to mail items during this pickup period that could take a day or two longer to get back to locals .. we could mail on Monday to have it arrive same day as Friday/weekend mail sent.
Was it in the last two years USPS decided ALL our local mail was to be sorted through this facility? Obviously the results got worse. Local carriers now had to work past 6-7pm in the dark and return to their post office at least twice (not once) a day to be served by this policy. It appears USPS didn't give the 77315 facility extra hands, machinery, management, et al. to make this cost savings work out.
Locally we went from 2-3pm deliveries to after 6pm almost every day. There is no longer confidence that 2 & 3-day mail arrives on time 95% often as before, now it's a surprise.
The One Star is not necessarily for this facility, for who really knows what goes on behind closed doors? The One Star may more appropriately be hung around the necks of the white collar high paid executives that plot to save money, then load their blue collar workers with more headaches, less facilities to make it happen as "planned". Seems to me the only benefits went to the white collars to justify their high pay and surely many got bonuses for their "genius".
This is wild hope that this & other reviews will cause change, better lives for postal workers, less strain for all, improved service to customers and .... replacement of the white collars that caused this mess.
It is no longer a joy to walk to the post box as...
