Woodworkers/Crafters/Small Business Owners: Beam and Board has very high quality slabs. Unfortunately, they come with heart palpitation inducing price tags. I’ve been shopping there for a while (probably 2-3 years now). Prices have absolutely skyrocketed in the last year, making even basic slabs out of reach for the average garage warrior. Beam and Board used to work with me on pricing, but that’s quickly turned into super small markdowns on outrageously priced wood. As much as I love the store, the nice staff, and the quality of the products, the prices have grown to FAR beyond reasonable. As unfortunate as it is, I believe I’ve visited beam and board for the last time. I hope this review finds a manager or the owner - you’re quickly losing a large population of garage warriors. This company showed us some of the poorest customer service we have ever received. They made claims that ended up not being true, charged us for items we were not happy with but had no other option than to use them given the timing on our project, told us we could use certain types of wood for shelving, then told us we couldn't and would need to find a different wood. Made two trips from Milwaukee, worked "with them" for 4 months and ended up very dissatisfied, very poor communication among staff within the company and the owner. Waste of time. I could never in good conscience recommend this company to anyone....

We bought a piece of reclaimed beam for a fireplace mantel project we are doing. Our experience with Beam & Board was awesome! The people there were incredible. Emily was very patient helping us look at different alternatives. We initially shopped there and came back many weeks later and Emily remembered us when we walked in. She was very kind and helpful, made this whole experience just a pleasure. Also, when we went to pickup our mantel, Eric helped us. He too was very friendly and servicing.
