Went in with a buddy of mine to get him a new set of clubs for the season. He's a relatively new golfer who doesn't understand much about his own swing. We met up with the man at the counter to ask about checking out some clubs to see what might work best for my friend. Rather than setting him up to try different shafts (e.g. steel vs graphite) he handed him a prefab set and said that'll do. When we asked about trying a few different types so my friend could get a feel for what he wanted to purchase, the "fitter" insisted on the prefab set he had already selected. We felt he wasn't very interested in making sure the clubs felt right in his hands. The fitter also mentioned that my friend was a little shorter than the average golfer and may want his clubs shorter to match, but didn't provide any info about how to do so, and again didn't allow us to test that theory. I had gone in with my friend in the hopes of also checking out a new driver, but ultimately decided against any purchase here after the service we received. We felt very off put by the service we received, and felt that trying out new equipment was frowned upon unless you were a low handicap player willing to spend $1000+. Looked at the prefab set that was recommended elsewhere and saw it was priced ~$100...
Read moreI have been here so many times and every time I browse for a little while and then will grab what I went in for and cash out. Not once have I received a hello or any kind of acknowledgment when I walk in the front door. Walking around no one asks if you need help and almost feels like if you are not shopping dressed in golf attire they will not respect you. Each time I have cashed out I was met with disrespect and shortness. Chasing down an employee just to get a question answered is absolutely crazy. These people profile you when you walk thru the door and if you don't look like golfer they won't help at all. Lost me as a customer that's for sure. Poor customer service will ruin a business and this place has horrible customer service.
Now the World Cup part of the facility is great! The trackman bays are easy to use and the grass areas are great as well! I think you guys definitely need a bigger practice green or just to add another one. It's always super packed and you can realistically only get 4-5 people on it at a time. I would recommend adding another one or perhaps one for putting only and one for chipping practice/ putting.
Over all Golf & Ski thumbs down don't go.

Read moreI have been coming to Golf and Ski for my equipment the last 2 years. They have a wide variety of gear and accessories. So much that it isn't necessary to frequent another store. The staff are very attentive and will absolutely cater to your needs. I've had the most contact with Brian at the store. He is a superior golf professional with a number of years in the industry. I was there yesterday to pick up a new set of irons and was dead set on getting fit into the TS drivers. The irons were an easy find after hitting a few stock sets, but when it came to the driver, Brian really made me do my due diligence before the purchase. Rather than just fitting me to what I wanted, he suggested I try a few others with some different shaft combos. This doesn't happen enough. Alot of times you get fitters trying to steer you towards the most expensive purchase without testing out other options. Brian took it upon himself to set a proper example for how any golf operation should run. I not only left with irons and a fitted driver, but also with a better knowledge of my swing and what my numbers represented. I highly recommend the services and equipment offered through Golf and Ski warehouse in Hudson,...
