Ghumm's Auto Center — Local services in Hugoton

I was half way between home, MN and my destination, NM. When the deep rain gutters in this city which were unmarked ( by the way) jumped up and destroyed my car. But a manager/ mechanic from Ghumm's drove out of his way after hours, to take a look at my car and enabled it to be driven to a hotel for a night and gave instructions to get it fixed at his shop.

It took a day to get the part shipped in and the next day we were on the road with in a couple of hours.

This route that Google maps gave us was not only slower due to poor road conditions, but having to go through small towns, and confusing directions was the pits.

My review is for the service center/department. I have bought tires and had my vehicles in this shop numerous times over the last 7-8 years. The service was good back in the day, but it has definitely gone downhill. The quality of service might be better if you have purchased a vehicle from them, but I would not bet on that. This shop is like many though, instead of taking the time to try and diagnose a problem, they just suggest you change this or that. Brought my car in on a Wednesday they said they had time to look over it. I had to call a week later to check in and still nothing. When I went to get my car this morning it was misfiring still (the reason I brought it in) and the timing was set super high. So I paid for an expensive part for absolutely nothing. Normally people would tell you to take it back, but I leave in a day I don’t and won’t trust a place that either can’t tell if a car is misfiring, or they just simply don’t care.
