Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Humboldt

We love Fareway and their great prices. They have a clean, new store; excellent Meat Dept; plenty of children's shopping baskets; small, but fresh Produce Dept; friendly staff always; some decent weekly sales; and all the basics a small hometown grocery store should offer.

They aren't open on Sundays, and close at night,but there's another 24-hr grocery store in town if you forget, it's just a lot more expensive.

Their new store has more modern restrooms & drinking fountain, too.

The store is fine as a whole but I can't stand the persistent insistence on helping me with my groceries! I honestly spend less in order to walk out with my groceries! I love that the elderly and others who need help have it, but as an able bodied 33yo who asks nicely everytime and has to repeat themselves sternly is beyond irritating. Teach your employees to read the individual and situation!!! The fact they feel that they have to help, even when asked not to is ridiculous! And I bring my cart back inside everytime. The meat counter is lacking in customer service! I had cheese cut that i bought from the shelf and Matt didn't even put paper between the layers and now i am stuck with a pile of cheese!
