Southeast Nebraska Cancer Memorial — Local services in Humboldt

This is the most beautiful memorial garden I've ever seen! What a tribute to those who have fought the battle of cancer. To the volunteers who created this masterpiece.....thank you! This garden is a must see if you're in town during the flower season. I visited in August so everything was in full bloom. Neatly trimmed. Flowers were well kept. The folks tending this garden obviously are passionate about what they created. It deserves more than 5 stars. We did camp in the Campground and found it to be quiet and peaceful albeit the trains that go by about 3 blocks away. I would make this a destination stop if I were ever in Nebraska again! What a beautiful garden! I love visiting here when in Humboldt. I always visit botanical gardens when I travel. This is smaller than big city botanical gardens, but just as beautiful. It's a gem and it's free! My husband and I enjoyed visiting with Jim and Jan Wilhelm, the designer and caretakers of the park. Incredible experience. I had never been before but my mother had wanted me to take the kids and go with her the next time we were in Nebraska. Well, unfortunately the first visit was after my mom had already passed from breast cancer.
