This shelter is very sad. No one answers ever, voicemail is full. I’ve tried to save NiƱo who was caught by Animal Control. My neighbor gave him to me because she didn’t want any trouble because he got out while they were moving furniture. I was hoping I could get niƱo out but I can’t without any valid proof even though an airtag I bought him(and black collar) is on him. I am very sad the original owners can’t give me something in writing. This place charges $17 per day, $35 for un-neutered pets, 160 general fee $20 for registration, $45 for chipping I believe fees for no vaccines. The woman who answered my husband’s call tried to pin him as rude and supposedly called her names but I doubt that. She just doesn’t want NiƱo to be with us. Sounds like she wants to keep the airtag and NiƱo. After i post this she’s really not gonna work with me. That’s fine keep telling me no. Im getting ready for Plutos surgery so I can’t help NiƱo anymore. But to whoever is trying to adopt him PLEASE don’t think about it just do it. He is a wonderful baby and just loves to love. Update! This place threw the airtag away instead of contacting me to pick it up. I added screenshots. These people are ridiculous!

Customer service was great here. I ended up adopting my baby, THENA. The adoption process was quick and swift. I will say, however, when you are thinking of getting a rescue here it’s important to consider a couple things. Ask as many questions as you possibly can. I was told she was friendly with people. About a week and a half in, she was aggressive with males. It would have been really helpful to know the intensity of her aggression. I was able to hire a trainer and slowly get her integrated but that’s not the case for everyone. Just take a lot into consideration before adopting and ask your questions. Update 02/06: Thenas aggression only got worse, we had a couple of incidents and its sad to say but at the root of all of this the shelter could have had measurements or training before I took her on. They are jam packed, the animals are in concrete blocks and it only triggers them. I hope they can receive funding or support to make this facility better.

We found this place by accident, meant to call another place but I’m glad we ended up here. Wow 🤩 wonderful place, clean with friendly staff, service is great and they don’t charge you arms and legs. Our 16 years old family cat was very sick so we needed a veterinarian to see her. Dr. Rodriguez saw our cat 🐈 Asal. Although she told us the very hard reality but she also was so kind and compassionate. šŸ™ we give 10 stars āļø to the doctor and staff. Dr. Made the journey for our beautiful Asal very easy and pleasant. Thank you doctor šŸ™ā™„ļøšŸ„° I’m loving memories of Asal who went to heaven on April 28 2021 šŸ¤²šŸˆā™„ļø

Terrible customer service, rude to a couple trying to pick up their lost pet, which I personally observed, then rude to me.

The pet's owner was incredibly patient with employee (employee was an older woman, long dark hair, thick drawn in eyebrows). The employee was impatient and offered little guidance as the pet owner tried to find out steps necessary to claim her dog. Then it was my turn. I asked about a pet a friend of my found and dropped off. The same employee was condescending and rude to me as well. At one point, she looked at another employee and said "tell her..." instead of speaking to me directly. It was odd and I thought maybe she was referring to another conversation. I told the other employee I was interested in adopting. The rude employee interrupted and said the pet was not up for adoption yet she had no clue when that would occur. This was a statement she said previously, when I ask. It was clear I was asking about the adoption process not repeating my question. The phone rang. The rude employee directed the other employee to answer the phone, while she was trying to provide me with information, and said to the polite employee, "if it's (cant recall the name) then tell her I want to talk to her." The polite employee did as she was told. The rude woman dismissed me and said "you'll have to come back next week," still not comprehending I wanted adoption info, and took the phone call. The polite employee gave me a half hearted smile as I said "no problem, thank you," and left.

I also work a demanding job with lots of customer contact. Kindness, patience and communication skills are critical. Maybe she had a tough day or maybe my tone wasn't seen as polite....

I want to tell everyone not to adopt from here, but honestly I would not want the animals in need of loving homes to suffer. We had an unfortunate situation here and I would give the "manager" a negative star if I could. One of the rudest people I have encountered. She left us in a heartbreaking scenario with no explanation or care. The receptionist was nice at first but rude once the manager was present. Thier policies are only used when desired to benefit them. I understand where we landed in decisions, but my family is heartbroken. I would avoid dealing with people like that when you are needing a real human interaction. Better to go somewhere where the people love thier job and thier animals.

We wanted to adopt the sweetest pup. But while we are heartbroken, we hope she gets the best home. Please, someone who will give the best loving home, go get Poppy!

This manager should not have a job here though. While she complained of how impacted the shelter is, she denied an adoption to a wonderful family. Part of the situation is our fault. But it is clear they don't want to work with you. I am VERY concerned that animals here don't get homes because of this person, and I wrote this review because I think this is the worst thing you could do to animals...

Review for Humane Society @ 21632 Newland Ave., HB: Our aged dog was wandering non-stop well into the morning (4am) and had possible signs of seizuring. I brought her to be seen for an urgent visit at this location; the vet said it didn't look good (I knew that) and an MRI of the brain would run approx $1200....that's just to workup a diagnosis...I figured with my medical knowledge and the dog's advanced age that this was undoubtedly something that could not be effectively treated. They offered to euthanize the dog at a nominal cost...Other regular veterinarian's charged at least $500 just to administer the injection. I waivered because of a rich history with this pet and deep love for her. Ultimately, I had to do the most merciful thing and end her suffering. I held her as they gave her the injection, spoke to her, stroked her fur and cried. They were extremely compassionate and supportive...which meant alot to me as it was a decision I made with a heavy heart..but it was the most merciful and I want to thank them for being there in our time of need. I can't say I "loved it"...which is what it says when you select 5 stars...but they were 100% there for us and I won't forget their...
