Overall I love this place. I have two dogs. One who just had surgery so we took him for a first time session to see if heād like it as a form of PT. He did great and we had an excellent experience with the instructor we got. I wish I could remember her name. She let us lead and supported when needed. So we decided to bring our second dog. Heās a bit more apprehensive when it comes to water and new things. Unfortunately this time we did not have the greatest experience. Again booked a first time session only this time we got a different instructor. It was going good at first, she seemed to take the lead a bit more than the other girl which could be ok, only, maybe 10 minutes into the session she decided to force my dog into the water WELL before he was ready. Prior to this he was curious and attempting to come down the ramp. Just taking it slow and building trust with a new experience and person. Then after she did that he completely shut down and pretty much refused to participate any further. She then kept telling my husband and myself every time weād attempt to get him in the pool that our dog was too scared and she didnāt think it was a good idea to push him any further this session. Which wouldnāt have been the case of a stranger didnāt force him into the water. We did get him in the pool a tiny bit but it took us carrying him and letting him swim back to the ramp then giving him lots of praise treats and love. Overall I think we ended the session with our dog being far more apprehensive about water than when we went in. I will book again but it wont be a first time session. Iāll book both of my dogs in the smaller pool and hope that my one dog that loved it can help build the trust in my other dog to know itās ok and we will go at his pace and itāll be a much better experience. Just disappointed that we have to take a step backwards in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI brought my Golden Retriever to Dog Splash, who hasn't swum much but likes water. The gentleman running the place was really helpful and friendly. He knows well how to leave someone alone to enjoy themselves but also when to be helpful, for instance, when to assist with a reluctant dog. He was very accommodating with instructions, toys, towels, useful info, and more.
The waters are kept very clean and I don't think I smelled chlorine at all. As we prepared to leave, he even entered the pool and skimmed by hand the fur my dog left behind. The whole place was well-kept, clean, and safe.
It sounds like the new owner is in the process of some good changes but has not had the time to put them on the website. If you have a dog that does not like other dogs or is aggressive, it may be allowed to swim now. I would call and ask instead of clicking away from the website because it says no aggressive dogs are allowed. No dog should be denied this place. It really was great! My dog and I had a better experience than I expected, and we WILL be back for sure. The price listed on the website was actually higher than what I was charged, which was a nice surprise. Prices COULD somehow vary, I don't know. I did not ask about that.
I really hope people go to Dog Splash, I want to see them do well. Really, everything about my experience was great. It is an excellent setup and perfect for any dog for fun or therapy. I love the private feel of it and being able to go in the pool with my dog. Take your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am very impressed with the dog splash. I took my 4-year-old lab with me and he absolutely had a blast. They have all kinds of water toys at each pool, they have towels for you and your dog, they have bathroom, dressing rooms, and if you bring a couple dogs and one of them don't want to swim they also have a kennel you can put the one that don't want to swim. Very affordable, Very very clean. The man gets into the pools and skims them out in case there's any hair and stuff left over from the previous client. I believe it's 45 minutes you pay for. But I tell you what 45 minutes of straight swimming, jumping, playing, and splashing, I tell you that's plenty of time to wear your fur baby out. There's a big pool with a dock that you can train your dog to jump off a dock and then you have the smaller pool for just playing and enjoying yourself. you can try for a walk-in but it's more recommended to call and make an appointment so that way you have a time slot reserved. You could have a pool party with your dogs and your dog's friends. I think that's sweet. Many people don't look at dogs as family but I know there are more people who do. Enjoy the dog splash I really really...
