This is actually an update of a review from over a year ago. I am not able to find the original review, so this is a new one.

I purchased a Country Clipper Mower about 7 years ago. After I bought the mower, I began having some minor problems starting the Kohler engine. As a result I had it in the shop for maintenance almost yearly in order to be able to start is. The engine degraded to the point where it would not start without starting fluid.

I was in the Huntsville store picking up some parts and commented I needed to have it serviced again. That's when I found out Kohler admitted to a design flaw in that model of engine, but told no one till after warranties expired. It was destined for a catastrophic failure. In frustration I looked for a place to review the mower and motor and could not find an appropriate forum, so I posted a well written, but poor review on LoneStar Outdoor's page. It really didn't belong there, but there was no other home for it.

Well, that sparked a conversation between myself and Ryan Stelck. Ryan is one of the owners. At the end of the day, Ryan worked with me to do an engine swap. (Kawasaki)

The reason I give these guys 5 stars is not because they do everything right. They deserve 5 stars because Ryan and Ken work hard to do the right thing. They are fair, honest, and work to have a relationship with their customers. I have been buying from them over over 8 years and continued to do so even through the mower fiasco. If you are looking for good, old fashioned local owned an operated business who will greet you with a smile and listen to you when you have a problem, you will never go wrong with LoneStar. Ken at LoneStar Outdoor Power was great to work with, chatting with me for over an hour to answer all my questions about zero turn mowers. He help guide me to the right combo of engine and transmission. Ken made me a great deal on the Country Clipper Boss XL, that took my weekly lawn cutting job of 7 acres from 6 hours (Kubota tractor with belly mower) down to 2 hours with the Country Clipper. Best customer service ever!!!

I scheduled a rental the day before and they went far beyond the expected. They didn’t have what I needed and Ryan even called their competitors to help me find it. Fortunately by the next day he got one of their own and for a very low fee he dropped it and Shane the operator helped me finish my job even faster.

If you look for a rental in other place around Huntsville you are losing your time and throwing your money away.

I would give 6 stars...
