For years we have come to Apple Charlie's and always enjoyed our time. We moved away to Colorado due to work. We wanted to revisit. It's so nostalgic to go back. My brother-in-law and sister my husband my daughter and granddaughter, son-in-law and my son all went. We did have an amazing time We went on a hayride We bought donuts apple cider purchased food to feed the animals. My daughter paid $25 to get a bag of apples. We went out all together to get the apples to help her find enough to fill the bag, My brother-in-law did pull one off and he ate it and thought they were delicious so we knew we would continue to get those types. Then some guys came by and we heard them counting how many of us there were. We realized we had too many people for one bag so four went back so that there was no troubles. However as he reached the end to leave they were pulled over by some guy with blonde hair and a younger boy who were asking questions about how was that apple did it taste good. In other words they seen that he got one apple off the tree and ate it. I Believe he handled it really badly He was disrespectful and as "the customers" he could have handled it better. The tone he used was very belittling and condescending. My brother-in-law offered to pay for the one Apple and even asked how much. My brother-in-law did try to resolve the problem but the blonde haired guy the bigger one was still being a jerk. It was ONE apple come on! Unfortunately this made us all a little disappointed and will not revisit Apple Charlie's again very very sad. An amazing place that we have gone to for so many years with so many memories ruined by two men. We had such an amazing time with my granddaughter and for it to be ruined by this is...
Read moreWe went to Apple Charlie's today to pick apples. They sold us a $20 bag and off we went. At the entrance to the orchard, we were told that we were not allowed to cross the orange fence to get apples off the trees on the other side. They pointed out their sign that states, "no refunds". What the didn't tell us was the only apples they have are Red Delicious. No other kind at all. Nobody in my family like red delicious. So we go out to complain that they should have let us know that they were offering only trees with red delicious apples. There were 6 employee's, led by an old man with a white beard, and he was a total A-hole to us. We told him that they shoukd have told us that all they offered was red delicious. He actually said to us, "what do you want from me, No Refunds". So we asked who was in charge that we could talk to. He stated that he didn't know but there are no refunds. Real a-hole. Great representative of Apple Charlie's. We go inside and meet an older woman who gave us a refund, but told us to not tell anyone that we got a refund. Then she told us they would open up other parts of the orchard with different varieties next week. We will no longer be patronizing Apple Charlie's. What would possess an apple orchard to have a 'No Refund' policy. We left Apple Charlie's and went to Erie Orchards Apple Orchard and Cider Mill where we got several varieties of apple's and friendly service. Apple Charlie's, it may mean nothing to you but we will no longer visit your orchards because your staff was very rude and your no refund policy...
Read moreI have went to Apple Charlie’s my whole life . I loved this place until now . The women inside of the donut shop have almost no patience with anyone( I saw this , did not experience it myself). Also there donuts are hard and stale . The bees swarm you while you try to eat the donuts . Also you buy bags of powdered sugar separate and you make the donuts yourself in the powder. However, the lack of animals they had, and the horrible donuts weren’t the worst part. We went to go get apples (me and my husband, my son and my daughter). When we ended up going to the back to get apples, I realize that none of the apple trees were maintained. They all look like Apple bushes, the are unkept and the grass in between the tree lines was unkept horribly. The mosquitos ate us alive in a way I have never seen before . We did not fill our apple bag up because after rushing the kids out of the orchard , my husband could not manage . Today my son had to go to the Emergency Room after only 5 minutes picking apples . I will never return to this place . It hurts my heart to see apple Charlie’s declining so horribly . It use to be the best place to be and now it is falling apart, uncleanly and not enjoyable. We had no warning and when I saw another man tell the lady at the counter about mosquitoes she was annoyed . Do yourself a favor and go...
