Edit: September 2021 Okay, so when I first reviewed, they weren’t great. BUT they have improved A LOT since then. They’ve installed fiber lines throughout the entire town of Huxley and it’s quite reasonable for pricing now ($75 for 100mbps up and down). Occasionally you will get slower speeds but that’s to be expected when you realize that certain times will be harder on the local servers cuz everyone is getting on at once. This happens with all internet providers, so it’s not an unique problem. Overall, they’ve improved a lot and I do recommend them now. The customer service has been great recently as well.

Old review (2018): The internet quality is pretty awful most of the time. If you happen to be on during a "busy" time so (anytime after 3pm), your speed tends to drop significantly due to the amount of stress on their servers. On a bad day, it's almost impossible to use their internet service.

We're paying for the 8mbps and have never hit that speed. We tend to top out at 5 on a good day. Recently, we've had to start paying for a landline as well. We never use it, but are required to have one to have internet.

There was a flyer/notification that was sent out awhile ago about Huxley Communications installing fiber optics. However, I am assuming that's for the higher speeds as we have not seen any improvement.

It's hard to fairly judge their prices against the mega-internet companies (like Mediacom) as Mediacom charges for things like routers, etc. and don't tell you the real price until you've signed up. Not only that but often those big companies require contracts and then jack up the price after one year. However, Huxley Com. charges $95 for 100mbps which, based on what we've had, means you're really paying $95 for 80-90mbps. I find that to be rather expensive.

However, there are a couple of positives that they must be given credit for. One, they do not require a contract. Two, the one time they came out, they were courteous, quick and punctual.

I would just like to be receiving the speeds for which I am paying for and wished they would lower their fairly high prices at...

The WORST cable service ever!!! Rudest customer service to my wife who constantly switch up what they say to her!!! Treat a working family horribly because we can't and WONT pay their OUTRAGEOUS prices for cable equiptment!!! We had Mediacom in Huxley when we first lived here then we moved a block away not thinking the cable provider would be different. Turns out it was we HAD to go through Huxley Communications which has been a nightmare for my wife and my family ever since!!! We are a working class family that sometimes lives paycheck to paycheck or have little in savings for simple emergencies. Huxley Communications told my wife she needed a $25 deposit to join when she went in she paid it then charged her another $75 because she didn't have references. She went to Mediacom they didn't accept that due to our being late a day here or there never had a disconnection ever just a day or two late due to timing of pay. Nope didn't count they want us to pay $100 now for every box for every TV in our house to have cable because to them we are not credible payment customers and don't pay our bills on time!!! Even though all our equipment was returned to Mediacom off of all 4 of our TV's!!! This is RIDICULOUS!!!! I work I have custody of my son I provide for my family I have bills I pay them on time in SONG have $400 to shell out just to have my son enjoy some cartoons or a movie or myself and wife enjoy some of our favorite shows after a hard day's work!!! On the weekends when our cable goes out this crap company isn't even around to fix their outages!! Like today!!! Their Wi-Fi used to be good lately it has been slow!!! I like the town of Huxley but Huxley Communications is HORRIBLE!!! Not right they are our only choice!!! I will do everything I can to get get another company in here also!!! Not right!!!...

Edit: I am editing this review to include the new Skitter system for those that can now receive this service via Huxleycom. The channel lineup is improved and includes AMC and several additional sports channels which has caused me to raise my star ranking, I have noticed an increase in internet speed and function, however I believe this to be attributed to Skitter allowing the use of my personal router instead of the router provided by Huxleycom. This is a step in the right direction and if you are a Huxleycom user I suggest asking about this service. The base speed / price for internet needs to be improved, all other service providers have a cheaper base price for higher output, and the gap is growing.

Lastly of note, the owner of Huxleycom has replied to this review, and I appreciate that, albeit 8 months after my original review. End Edit.

I wish this service where better, I really want to support local providers. The loss of AMC recently has been another hard pill to swallow.

The internet service is incapable of supporting 2 streaming services at the same time in our home. I do enjoy the unlimited data, which is a huge plus, however streaming speed doesn't allow you to capitalize on that data or high frame rates for online gaming.

I would love an increase in internet speed and the return of AMC to the channel lineup, for the price I currently pay for service I could achieve both of these wants by switching companies,...
