Hollin Hall Variety Store — Local services in Hybla Valley

Located in the quaint shopping center of Hollin Hall adjacent to the Safeway, this gem of a shop is filled with things and trinkets you didn't even know you needed. Upon entering the store, it could make almost any kid and kid-at-heart burst with excitement.

This variety shop has almost everything you might be looking for, such as: party supplies, gifting supplies, presents for gifting, crafting goods, fabric, household essentials, kitchen/baking things, and seasonal decor. There are aisles of unique, cool and quirky gadgets and gizmos a plenty. There are toys that are nostalgically vintage that you wouldn't find in regular stores; an aisle with buckets of candy where you can pick and choose individual pieces; and sales associates that are not only courteous and personable, but they are aquatinted with their regular patrons.

Their parking lot pretty much reflects the size of the shopping center--smaller than average but never crowded or full. It's handicapped accessible, however, you may need someone to manually open the two double doors to get inside. The restroom is towards the back of the shop and may be a little cramped.

The Hollin Hall Variety Store is the neighborhood five-and-dime and I'm so glad that such a place exists. We highly recommend you check out this charming shop and treat yo' self to something nice, something fun, and/or...

My daughter has lived in Mount Vernon for two years, but we hadn’t discovered this store until today, and what a find! Walking through the rows and rows of neatly presented merchandise made us feel like we had just discovered a secret treasure trove! The Variety Store has a wonderful selection of so many things, you won’t believe it unless you visit to see it for yourself - greeting cards, toys, beautiful fabrics, gardening items, craft items, stationary, school supplies, pet supplies, bird feeders, puzzles, games, an entire children’s section with so many different, amazing and thoughtful toys and gifts, and so much more. Just look at all the photos I’ve posted, there is something for everyone in the store, everything is neatly presented, and supported by the nicest, friendliest staff you will find anywhere. It’s local businesses like this, that make our community work. If you live locally and haven’t visited this store, please do so when you can, you won’t regret it. And the staff will make you feel genuinely appreciated. We will definitely be visiting this store regularly...

My favorite place to shop. Park at the front door. You are steps from literally everything. There is an amazing variety of items that you can't always find at the big craft stores. Also everyday items like marking pens are reasonably priced and quick to find and buy. Some years back when I couldn't find a large feather for my son's Robin Hood hat and had checked out Michaels and other huge stores I stopped at the little variety store and found a good choice of what I wanted. I know people who will drive around the beltway...
