I’ve been going to The Cut Butchery since they opened, and I can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed. What stands out most is the owner and staff. They’re incredibly knowledgeable about the products they sell and always take time to share helpful information. They offer high-quality, organic, and grass-fed meats, which my husband and I truly appreciate. Every time we walk in, we’re greeted warmly and treated with genuine care. Whether it’s a quick visit or a longer shopping trip, we always feel welcomed and supported. On my recent visit, I tried something new, a stir-fry tofu kit that came with easy-to-follow instructions. It was affordable, delicious, and made enough for at least two extra servings (also offer a chicken version). And now to my favorite part, the wine! I’ve been on the hunt for a great Chardonnay, and The Cut delivered. I picked up a bottle of De Loach and it was exactly what I was looking for….smooth, with just the right hint of oak. Honestly, it was better than most of what I’ve had in restaurants lately, and the price was very reasonable. I’m so grateful to have this kind of quality and care in our neighborhood. The Cut truly is a hidden gem—do yourself a favor and check it out! And yes, I know I just talked about wine and tofu in the same review, but to my defense, I don’t eat much meat. When I do, though, I only buy it from here. That’s how much I trust their quality.

First time at this butchery. Holy EXPENSIVE 😳 😳 $40/lb for what you get. First and last time here unfortunately. Wanted to support local but I can't with these prices. Not sure if it was wild caught as it didn't say so on the sign and it had bones in it. We had no idea how small it was until we unwrapped it at home.

We got a tomahawk steak and a skirt steak from The Cut to make when our son and three friends came home from college. The steaks were magnificent and the boys were beyond thrilled. No leftovers in sight! We are making our way back today in preparation for another visit!

I ordered a 50-pound pig from The Cut and the entire experience was outstanding. Alex, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable and kept in constant communication throughout the process. He let me know when the pig came in, offered flexible pickup options, and even stored it for me until I was ready.

When I picked it up, the pig was fresh from the farm and in excellent condition. Alex and his team went the extra mile—providing extra ice and clear instructions to make sure it stayed at the proper temperature.

Our pig roast turned out fantastic, and the quality of the pork spoke for itself—tender, flavorful, and clearly top-notch. I couldn’t be happier with the service or the product. Highly recommend The Cut to anyone looking for quality meat and great...

FINALLY a butcher shop in Alexandria that feels old school without looking (& smelling) like it! The Cut is absolutely amazing. Their selection is high-end and for those that enjoy quality products. It's not just meat as they have an insane selection of seafood, cured meats, cheese, produce, bread, etc. Even guanciale!! Head butcher Wendell will guide you and expertly cut you anything to your liking! Alex (owner) was super friendly and even asked if there was anything else he could stock that they don't already have! Can't wait to try the 45 day dry aged Ribeye...
