Costco Wholesale — Local services in Idaho Falls

Why don't you check ID at the door, properly, instead of accosting customers already tired of being in the store? I would be more than happy to have you scan my membership at the door or show my app. The harassment at self checkout is insane and no other Costco does this. They claim they are cracking down on people using other member cards, which is fine, but do it at the door and don't let those people in. Then, you have to wait in a forever line to prove you did not steal anything. They like to say they are making sure you have everything, but this is very untrue and you can find this information online. Your food court is so backed up because your workers lack meaning and purpose when working that it crowds the registers and makes it like being in another line just fighting to get through the food court to get out of the store. It should be a smooth happy transaction but lately the employees and lack of professionalism is more like Sams Club.. a different beast of clientele. FYI why do I use self checkout, because your cashiers like to man handle items, slide clothing on dirty checkout counters, ball up folded clothing, improperly stack items in boxes and are always rushed and not many are happy. I have sadly overheard employees on multiple occasions talking about their job there poorly, which is funny because I know employees at other Costco's who love it . BTW - Why the heck are you blasting heat at the door? 60's is normal , getting hot, here... we don't need to be sweating...

This Costco is typical. You have to buy in bulk. Even so, it appears that many prices are not that much better than local competition prices. The best part is the employees, they are helpful and friendly.. It is a huge warehouse store. Sadly, we found it has limited options on what you can get...for instance, you can get bulk old-fashioned oatmeal, but not quick oatmeal. You can get stick butter, but not butter in tubs. Chopped lettuce, but not a head of lettuce etc. What produce they have is usually great, but your options there are also limited and the bananas are usually green, black or bruised. The grapes are hit and miss on being spoiled, The bagged apples are great, Meat is pricey, of course to top that off you have to buy huge amounts at a time. Mixed reviews on the rotisserie chicken , which is $4.99. They have limited dairy, etc., but what they do have is great. The store sells clothes, books, blankets, pillows, bathroom rugs, area rugs, dog food and beds, some appliances, furniture, big screen tvs and freezers, there are huge bags of candy or chips and nuts, The pharmacy area carries an assortment of vitamins and medications...all in bulk size. You can even get tires or other auto related items. There is also a food court for sandwiches, hot dogs, cookies and drinks etc.. your Costco ID is checked on the way in, at the checkout, and on the way out the door along with your receipt. Good place...

Idaho Falls Costco, their employees, and their customer service do not even deserve 1 star. I am not one to leave reviews, but after the experiences I have had here I think others deserve to know. Let me preface this, I have worked in customer service for 10+ years mostly as a customer service manager. If I EVER heard of my employees acting the way they do at this location there would be serious coaching and even corrective action. I was chased by not 1 but 2 employees throughout the entire store until I ended up leaving without everything I intended to buy. All the while they were yelling and hollering for backup as if i were some criminal....but all they were upset about you ask? My child (who is less than one year old and facinated with faces) had pulled my mask down to expose only my nose (my mouth stayed completely covered) for, not joking, less than 5 seconds! I have heard horror stories about this location and their customer service but gave them the benefit of the doubt because i understand there are 2 sides to every story. After today, I can say i will never be returning. I am a religious mask wearer and obedient to all local and store rules whether I agree or not.Thank heavens for our local Sams Club where I was able to purchase everything I needed and at even better prices.
