Exner Marsh Conservation Area — Local services in Illinois

This is a wonderful Forest Preserve and the trails are very fun and relaxing to walk. Although it seems to me that these days every piece of vacant land they pick up to be a forest preserve and do nothing to set it apart from the last one that they created. It doesn't matter which one you go to in this area all you end up doing is walking in circles they do nothing to make the next one better. It would be great if some of these facilities had other amenities besides walking in circles. Would it be too hard to put a playground or exploration facility at some of...

Pros: A good distance to hike. There is a nice marsh visible. Bad hikers have managed to pile all of the trash not near a trash can in one spot so it isn't all over. Cons: Trash, dog poo, and the marsh is located smack dab in the middle of residential housing. There are only 2 trash cans, so in the defense of terrible visitors, you can only throw trash away at the end of the trail or the beginning. If you carry a backpack as I do for picking up after my dog, it won't matter one way...

i love this place in all seasons, i recently went when everything was relatively flat and my friend and i searched for bones to save and clean and display as a way to preserve the animals even more. we picked up some shotgun shells and removed them along with garbage found on the way. i love coming here to clear my mind and the trails aren’t super long but great for walking and clearing your mind. i suggest observing the animals and...
