While going to Imokalee for the produce market we stopped in on Blockers on a lark just to see what kind of funky furniture would be sold in this small farming community best known for its farmer's market and Indian gambling casino. We weren't expecting much given the metal clad non descript warehouse building housing this business and somewhat torn up front parking lot.
To our surprise we found very nice high quality unique, yet still mainstream, items at reasonable prices. We wound up buying a glass dining table and real leather accent chair we had spent a month plus looking for in over a dozen Fort Myer's/Naple's name brand furniture and consignment stores.
The staff is folksy and unpretenious - offering drinks and snacks, even some roasted chicken, to customers - but really seemed to be knowledgeable regarding the furniture they are selling. They are not wanna be design consultants, but they can tell you about the furniture's construction. Note they don't even carry any faux leather products. They were also much more flexible regarding the configuration of furniture they sold. For example, we wanted a specific type of table top glass with a specific base model and color. They were more than willing to mix and match different component pieces so we could get just what we wanted.
Since their profit margin is lower compared to a traditional furniture store and they may be custom tailoring a piece for you, they aren't particularly flexible on returns should you simply change your mind. So be certain of what you want before you decide to buy it. Shop other stores first to figure out what you really want and get some price quotes - then give Blockers a try. Delivering your order to Fort Myers or Naples was essentially the same price as most Fort Myer's big name furniture stores quoted me for a delivery within the city limits.
We will be waiting a month for furniture delivery. If there is any problem I'll be...
Read moreI would love to tell everyone that Blockers Furniture is worth the trip. I had recently moved to Florida, and wanted to change my house colors to look more like I pictured Florida. That meant that I wanted a white dining room set of table & chairs. I just happened to see an add on TV of the Blocker Furniture store with a showing of a dining room set that I was looking for. So, on June 10th, 2021, my sister and I set out to Immokalee to see the dining table and chairs. It was an experience that I'll always remember, because I was very quickly introduced to one of the Blocker family. She led me straight to the table & chairs set. I made a decision to have that very set that I saw on the TV add. I was told that it would need to be ordered from another state. I waited. Yesterday, I received a call from Blockers. IT'S HERE IN FLORIDA AND COMING TO MY HOUSE IN JANUARY. IT'S PATY TIME AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR ME! If you're looking for furniture, go to Blockers. Great Family...
Read moreThis truly is a family-run operation and they make you feel like you are part of their family when you walk in the door. We traveled from Cape Coral, over an hour away, because we couldn't find what we wanted anywhere in the Cape or Ft Myers. Ken took the time to find out what we really wanted and we ended up ordering a living room and dining room set that day. When we lived in Georgia we made a trip to NC to buy a house full of furniture and saved a lot of money, but with the Blockers in our "back yard" I would never do that again. Their prices are very good and the quality of furniture is exceptional. They will also beat the price of anything you might find in another store. After the furniture was in our home I actually damaged the buffet with an ink pen. Kim Blocker worked with me until we got a solution to repair the damaged area and the manufacturer sent us the repair pens to make the damage disappear. I highly recommend...
