I bought a new camper from these people in 2023. It ended up having a bunch of leaks. External and internal. Some of the leaks had been bandaged by the crew here at zoomers while it was on the lot. I’m sure they noticed it leaking and chose to improperly fix the issue by smearing a big bead of silicon around the front window instead of removing and resealing the window. I have pictures of the front of the camper the day I bought it where you can clearly see the silicone around the window. I bought the camper and used it and took notes of all the issues for warranty repair. The dealership put in for warranty repairs and was denied because the roof and front window had no inspections while it sat on their lot. Also, Forrest River does not accept self inspections on campers and RV’s. They expect you to take your Camper or RV to a Forrest River dealer and pay for an inspection every 6 or so months. Inspections are supposed to be performed periodically with an inspection log by dealer before purchase and customer after purchase. Unbeknownst to me the dealership was trying to request an astronomical amount of money and hours to unnecessarily replace the whole front section of the camper. Forrest River also told me that they had denied several of their claims because they requested astronomical hours for repairs. All that was needed was a simple window reseal for the front window and some new trim. Forrest River approved and paid 5 hours of labor to remove and properly seal the window. Instead of doing the reseal the correct way they chose to just smear another large bead of silicone around the window. While it is sealed, it looks very bad. Now we’re a year later and I have a large bead of yellow silicone around the windshield of my two-year-old camper. If Zoomers wants to correct the issue they should feel free to reach out to me. I’ll remove my review if they choose to correct the issue. If this review is still up Zoomers has chosen not to fix the issues they created. I’d shop elsewhere. They don’t stand behind their work or the products they sell. 8/5. Desiree reached out to me and told me if I can bring the camper to them they will inspect and possibly repair it. That’s 120 miles 1 way. In a vehicle that gets 9 mpg towing the camper. If it’s done on a weekend I’ll have to make 2 trips or pay for a hotel. If it’s done on a weekday I’ll have to miss work. Which in my line of work will equate several days or a week of work missed. I can have it repaired professionally locally without missing work or paying for hundreds of dollars in gas and losing at least 10 hours of my life. Which I’ve already done once. Also lost over month of usage out of it while they pushed for ridiculous repairs. Here’s added pics of their hack repair job.

UPDATE in response to Mike, the owner: * Thank you for responding, Mike. I appreciate the apology and your willingness to take ownership. That said, we were in direct communication with your team, requesting a hold and preparing documents. The unit being sold during that process wasn’t a simple oversight—it felt like we were disregarded as serious buyers. After the review, I received a voicemail from Austin. While the follow-up was noted, it came across more like damage control than a genuine effort to make things right. Trust is built through proactive care, not after-the-fact apologies. I hope this feedback helps your team treat future buyers with more transparency from the start.
ORIGINAL REVIEW * We were ready to buy a unit from Zoomers RV and made our intentions very clear. We asked to place a deposit, requested a hold agreement, and began preparing the necessary documents to finalize the sale. We even confirmed we’d send over my boyfriend’s license to have the agreement issued in his name—everything was ready on our end.
Despite all of that, the unit was sold to someone else without any warning. While we were mid-conversation, clearly moving forward, they allowed someone else to place money down and didn’t have the decency to notify us until it was too late.
Was this just a slimeball move? Yes, partially. Here’s why: • They knew we were serious—documents were actively being prepared, and we communicated clearly about timing. • A reputable dealership would’ve at least extended a courtesy message: “Another buyer is interested—do you want to lock it in now?” • Instead, they let us spend time and energy while the deal was already slipping away behind the scenes.
It’s a sales-first, people-second approach that leaves a bad taste.
We’ve added screenshots to show exactly how the communication went with the salesman who handled this poorly—so others can see how this dealership operates.
We came in as respectful, prepared buyers. We’re incredibly disappointed in how things were handled and won’t...
Read moreMy husband and I had been looking for a fifth wheel for almost a year, and we found what we wanted at Zoomers RV in Ina, Illinois. I was dreading calling them because I didn’t want to deal with another know-it-all, high pressure salesperson. Dave was wonderful. He answered all of our questions and called the factory representative when he didn’t know the answer. The amazing thing was that he did not pressure us at all. He answered our questions, let us look at the camper we were interested in, and told us to let him know if we needed anything. In fact, we said that he isn’t really a salesman, he’s just there for information.
We bought the unit we wanted and went to pick it up. We’ve had campers for decades, but we’ve never had a fifth wheel. There was also new technology that we were unfamiliar with. Needless to say, we had several questions. Steve in the service department was fantastic. He took all of the time we needed and answered every question we had. I don’t know how much he’s being paid, but I guarantee you it’s not enough. The walkthrough is like none we’ve ever had, and we looked over the unit with a fine toothed comb. After our last experience buying a camper at a different dealership, we weren’t going to leave without checking everything and having any repairs done before we took possession. We found one, minor issue, and Steve apologized and immediately repaired it. This man is amazing. His knowledge and skill were evident. He is truly an asset to this company. If his bosses are smart, they will do whatever it takes to keep him in their employment.
I’m not easily impressed, but Zoomers RV in Ina, Illinois is impressive. Everyone from the person who answered the phone, to the sales, parts, and service departments are polite and professional. I highly recommend going to Zoomers for your next camper purchase, even if you have to travel a long distance to get there.
I want to mention that I had never met anyone who works there until our purchase, and I have received no compensation for...
