āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø 5 Stars – Texan -Approved BBQ Worth the Stop

I’ve been stopping at this place for years — long before Covid — whenever I roll through town next to the Love’s truck stop. Let me tell you, it blows fast food at the truck stop out of the water every single time. This is REAL barbecue, done right.

The new remodel is fantastic — the building is bigger, more spacious, and feels brand new inside. They didn’t just rebuild; they upgraded. Now there’s plenty of room, new amenities, and even a line of merchandise so you can take a little piece of PCB BBQ with you on the road. On top of that, they now serve cold beer on tap and in cans, which makes the experience even better after a long haul.

The food? Absolutely top-notch. The pulled pork is smoky and tender, brisket is melt-in-your-mouth, and the ribs fall right off the bone. Their nachos are a meal in themselves, piled high with queso, pork, jalapeƱos, olives, sour cream, and sauce — Texas-sized and Texas-flavored. Even the sides hit hard: the mac n cheese is rich and creamy, the beans pack smoky flavor, and the slaw and tater salad are fresh and classic.

And it’s not just for the humans — they even sell smoked dog bones for your four-legged copilot. My Aussie loves them, and it’s a great touch that shows they really think about everyone who rolls through.

If you’re tired of the same old fast food options at Love’s, do yourself a favor and walk over here instead. This place has been consistently excellent for years, and now with the remodel and alcohol, it’s better than ever. As a Texan who knows good BBQ, this place gets my stamp of approval every single time.

Excellent overall experience.

The interior reminds me of a hipster (coffee) bar with huge chalkboard walls that display the handwritten menu along with dark floors; this effect is countered somewhat by the country music ambiance, tables, & eclectic decorations.

We both had the brisket; her the low carb bowl, me the sandwich. Meat portion was spot on for the price & cooked perfectly IMO.

Taste was largely brought out by the multitude of avaliable sauces at the flavor pump station.

We tried the (hot) XXX, Sweet Smoke, & Tangy sauces which were all tasty in their own way.

The XXX was the clear winner because of its amazing seductively (not too) sweet entry, followed by a surprising slide into a spicy hot rush that you could perfectly cater to anyone's spice tolerance.

The disappointments were her fried mushrooms (she said they were bland with an oily aftertaste) & the seasoned corn.

I LOVE cooked corn & can't stand sub par versions of it.

Unfortunately, despite the dusting of what tasted like the same seasoning as the seasoned fries, the corm was completely bland & worse was cooked in water instead of butter.

Butter soaked corn is the ONLY acceptable way to serve the gift of cob nectar.

Despite the failings, the overall experience & food was delicious & I love the customizable tastes that are achievable with the plethora of sauces offered.

The lady at register was very friendly & had a great sense of humor. Just don't let her convince you that the chocolate chip cookies are better than the frosted sprinkle suger ones -...

Porch Chair BBQ dine in

I have kept meaning to stop by this place when I drive past on the interstate and finally at a local person's recommendation I did. their old place burned down and it's brand new now with smoker around back.

They were out of a few things so I couldn't taste everything. But I got the three up sampler of my choice of brisket, pulled pork and barbecue chicken.

The brisket was very thin and dry. The pulled pork was perfect and tender whole the barbecue chicken I felt just came off the grill as it was super hot and not quite perfectly cooked (properly cooked yes, just not as tender as i like) as I like mine super pull apart tender. All very flavorful, and even more So once I started tasting their house sauces.

At first I thought the brisket and pulled pork was extremely small portion as well as potato salad.

the side of potato salad that was uniquely wonderfully tasted and the potato had good texture.

Pick 3 meats was 15 (tax included!!), potato salad was 4 for a cash price of 19 or a credit card price of 20.

I was completely satisfied with this meal

The chicken was a 1/2 a chicken and I gave up trying to use the plastic knife and fork and just ate it with my hands. So definitely finger licking good. My only complaint besides disliking plastic is I Needed three napkins due to how thin they were

In the 30 minutes I was there A Steady stream of truckers picked up meals and picked up meat...

5 stars across the board easy! Expectations highly exceeded! I'm from TX and I thought I had tasted it all but I was wrong! This is really a high caliber high quality bbq spot who would be very hard to compete with. Semi parking lot provided as well. Good service and clean business! I can't wait to come back!
