The River Church — Local services in Independence

I was born and raised in Chicago gave my life to Jesus in1997 I've been in Louisiana since October of 2016 I recently ran into some hard times and reached out to my church family for help as I was pretty desperate not one church who claim Jesus as their lord and Savior would step out in love but only offered prayer. I have met more people outside of the church who show more Christ like qualities then those of the body of Christ. Some have never been to a church or been witnessed to ,I miss the churches up north we tithe to the community more than we need new doors but I will always love the one who laid his life down for me because if he were in front of me I know...

5 star church with 5 star people! The kindness and generosity displayed here are two of the things I havent experienced anywhere else. Not to mention, when we have church we have church! Deliverance, baptism, prayer, miracles and breakthough are just a few gifts that we get to witness. I have never brought a guest that didnt feel loved and accepted no matter what they looked like, how they acted or what they wore. Very loving and caring place with the most compassionate, real and understanding pastor and pastors wife and the greatest congregation that goes above and beyond for the community and the people they come in contact with. I attended a wake at this church. There was no southern hospitality to be had. The members were nice & compassionate to the guests, however, there were no refreshments, such as coffee or bottled water for the guests. There was only one water fountain (no paper cups) located in the front lobby. I have never attended such an occasion at any other church or even at the funeral home where the attendees weren't offered at least some coffee & cake. Most often a full fledged meal is offered for the family & attendees on such occasions. Where were the Christianity & Southern Hospitality? I guess in some places it is left at the front door.
