Read moreMy daughter bought a new HVAC unit and water heater from this company in 2019. The A/C unit slowly declined in its ability to cool, and this year, will not go below 81* A service call was placed, under the warranty. The unit was found to be losing a large amount of Freon, to a level that it could NOT function properly. ( This is a Closed system, and should NOT lose ANY Freon, UNLESS there was a leak, which should have been found when the system was replaced !) It wasn't..... THEY installed the system (NEW) ... They did ALL of the soldering and connections on the system. Now the Freon has leaked out. They Claim it is NORMAL to lose Freon.... The Manufacturer says it is NOT Normal and indicates a leak in the system. They refused the warranty, because she did not have a maintenance contract with them, having THEM do maintenance on the unit, ( A violation of the Magnuson-Moss Act !), instead choosing to maintain the newly installed system themselves... After all...It was NEW !!! FULL of freshly installed Freon ! The Filters were changed regularly, and the outside unit was hosed out monthly. Changing filters and washing the outside cabinet and condenser unit will NOT stop leaking FREON !!!!! The owner of the company has numerous complaints and negative reviews, since he purchased and took over the company in 2019. He blames the bad reviews on the reviewers, instead of on the problems he caused, and chooses to ignore the problems causing the bad review in the first place. We were forced to file a complaint against his contractors license, through the Contractors State License Board, and file a claim against his State Insurance Bond, to Have the repairs done correctly, under the warranty. Based on the number of BAD reviews and complaints on this company, I would recommend that others STAY AWAY .!!!!!! As for those unfortunate enough to already be a customer of theirs, having a problem, I would encourage you to file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board, and make a claim with the Bonding company that insures them.. Best of luck ! UPDATE : Greg Granger responded to me, and once again, ignored the problem issue, choosing to once again ATTACK the reviewer, INSTEAD of fixing the PROBLEM !!! So....you have once again, proven where your business ethics stand....BLAME the customer.....Because ALL of these BAD reviews have to be wrong... and ALL of them just have something against you.... Yeah....You support the community...!!!!! IT Can't be that you just have "Shady" business practices...and are ashamed of having them pointed out..!!!! I would be ashamed Too !!! The State, and your bonding company WILL...
With so many Air Conditioning Companies in the Coachella Valley, how do you pick one whose is going to be 1. Reliable, 2. Honest and Ethical, and 3. Easy to work with? We have a had a few vendors come out and they varied from PUSHY âYou have to replace this unit today as itâs about to go outâ to another who looked at the same unit and said, âit just needs topping upâ
Well, I have found one Company who fits the bill as described above. On a home warranty service call, A#1 Service Heroes came out to assess what was my then current vendor told me was a âreplace the unitâ problem. Sal, A#1âs technician, told me, there is nothing wrong with the unit, it just need topping up with coolant.
A year later, I called them to have an annual maintenance plan put in place. Again, Sal came out and performed the service. There was a problem that had to be readdressed, but Sal returned the next day and fixed the issue with no extra charge. In talking with Sal, I mentioned that I was looking at a Garage A/C solution, and he told me he would get a Sales guy to go and spec out a system. Well, within 30 minutes, Zane appeared at my door and stated, I heard you want to see about and A/C system for your Garage! Talk about fast service! So, I thought to myself, he comes the âSell Jobâ. Not so much! Zane was professional, explained what system would be good for my Garage, explored all the financing options, and the price was acceptable with low monthly payments (He got us financed on the spot).
So, the next question was, âwell when can it be installed?â How is tomorrow morning I was told! Robert & Chris arrived next morning promptly at 7:30AM and spent all day installing the system. They were again professional, made good suggestions as to location of the unit(s) and other wise ideas to get the most from our system. We did keep them supplied with cold water all day, and honestly, we could not be happier. Our Garage is not wonderfully cool at 85 degrees (cooler than my hose sometimes!
If you want a Professional, honest & ethical Air Conditioning company, I can honestly recommend A#1 Service Heroes in Palm Desert as the best I have ever dealt with.

Would not recommend at all. canceled original appointment then when they did show 2 days later, they didnât have correct size of air filter to replace, took another 2 days for them to return with correct $70 filter size. The next day I called following up about my filter I Got a confirmation they were coming at 7pm, from both the company number and service guy, service man asked over the phone if Iâm replacing whole unit or repairing when I said I have not decided they never showed up with what I paid for. Got a call next morning, 7:45 AM saying they will drop it off that morning, I asked to just have them drop it off, did not want them coming in just wanted my filter, then their tune changed to service man will drop it off between 5-6pm on his way home from work. My second opionion(Simmons air) came around noon, turns out What they told me was wrong was in fact NOT wrong, so I called again to see about my filter, I was told I was scheduled at a different time then what I was told at 7:45 am which was much later then what they told me. so at this point I felt they were giving me the run around. If I wasnât getting What they wanted me to get I wasnât getting the s filter. So I Threatened to cancel my credit card because this is getting ridiculous and sure enough they came right away with correct filter. SCAM SCAM SCAM STAY AWAY.
