Solomon's Service — Local services in Inkom

Terrible customer service.

Got a flat tire just outside of Inkholm. My auto insurance set me up with Solomon’s Service, but then the request was cancelled. I called the Solomons to see why it was cancelled and to see if we might be able to set something up that was quicker than the alternative.

The man who answered the phone immediately went off on my insurance carrier, said that they’ll make you drive 10 miles to fix a flat then pay you $30 for it, so they don’t work with them. (For the record, I was 0.6 miles away from their shop) He then ended the call by saying, “I don’t know what to tell you.” Well sir, if you’re reading this review I’ll tell you what to say: not that.

Getting a flat tire or a blowout on the side of a highway is a stressful situation. I would expect anyone to show even just a basic amount of empathy towards those who find themselves in that situation. I get that insurance can be complicated. I also don’t care about your business model when I’m sitting in a hot car and looking at a 2 hour wait for assistance. I want to know what can be done. If the answer is nothing, then tell me and let me go so I can keep working on a solution. Don’t keep me on the phone so you can complain about something that has nothing to do with me.

He could have said, “I’m sorry, but we don’t work with that insurance company. We’d be happy to set something up with you directly if that’s something you’re interested in.” He could have recognized the incredibly frustrating situation his potential customer was in and offered an alternative. Instead, he treated my call like a nuisance.

For anyone thinking of calling Solomon’s Service, do yourself a favor and choose someone else who actually cares about...

My car broke down in Inkom on my way to Blackfoot Idaho. I was in total panic as I was really far from home. First off the people in Inkom were extremely helpful, Tina was so kind and personally drove me to Solomons, when i got there these guys were EXTREMELY helpful and super personable!! they had 40+ cars they needed to work on but made it a point to help me out first, even though they really didn't need to. The work ended up being pretty minimal, but they wouldn't take any money I tried to give them, all they asked is I sign the soda cooler and thank them, SO AWESOME!! Todd and Josh literally saved me, if it weren't for them I'd probably still be stuck in Idaho. I had a transfer case explode in my dodge in the fall of 2017 while 22 hours from my home in Missouri. These guys towed us, and our trailer back to their lot. Then the next morning drove us 20 miles to get a hotel for a couple days while we waited for the weekend to pass to buy a new one on Monday. Todd helped us install the the new one and resplice a wiring harness, and let us use his shop.
