This review is updated. Stopped in because I've never experienced an African market before. There are many interesting items that I want to try. They have frozen goat meat, which is a meat I've long wanted to try. I bought some natural African black soap for my wife to try, since she has to avoid fragrances and such. The staff there answered my questions and more for 30 minutes as I shopped around. Update: I have hated bar soap since body wash became the thing. That black soap that I bought for my wife... It's all I have used in the shower for a long time now. It's great! I've never felt cleaner and oil free in my life. I would think it would be great for acne. Bonus... Washed with it with a nice dose of poison ivy and the itch was completely gone for the whole day! That was my last bar so I just returned for more a few days ago. I was stating this fact to the gentleman I always talk to and he said, "Yes. And if you leave it on, it will dry the ivy stuff out even more". Check out the photos, I buy it in a bigger block now. It's very easy to cut into bars. That block is 4lbs, 11.5 oz. It will make 12 bars. At $27 for the block, that's just over $2 for each bar. Each bar lasts for several weeks. I rub it around until I've got a great coat on my hands 3 times each shower, if that helps estimating the washed you can get out of a bar. This soap is the bomb!

One of the best places to buy African food. I found everything I needed. The customer service is also good. I also noticed that the store is cleaned and organized.

We discovered this hidden jewel a year ago because my 8 year old became fascinated with African cooking. The staff was so helpful and offered up great ideas for her. A friend from work told me of another place that was bigger so we tried there as well. My baby said they're alright but it doesn't feel like home. What started as a black history project has turned into a loyal shopper. 1 suggestion, a few children cook books with stories of where the dish originated from...

1st impression are EVERYTHING! this store was very clean and didn't have that smell I smell @ most of African and Caribbean stores literally a breath of fresh air just walked around the store they had everything plus more..... food, ingredients, spices, herbs, vitamins, bitters, clothing, music I guess I could go on and on this looks like the Sam's Club of African stores. Very clean and sanitary. I truly...
