Wolf Hill Garden Center — Local services in Ipswich

I should have written this review some time ago! My friends wonder why I drive so far to go to this garden center and I say, "I would have it no other way!" Not only does Wolf Hill have the most amazing choices in plantings etc, more than that, their staff is off the charts amazing! Each staff person appears to love their jobs and believe me, it shows! In many garden centers I am on my own to figure things out while a staff member merely points a finger to where certain things are. I can assure you this is NOT what happens at Wolf Hill. Not only is the staff incredibly knowledgable, they go out of their way to help you put things together and to guide you thru the process. No leaving you in the isles to figure things out on your own! I've worked with various staff members over the years but today in particular I worked with Jackie and she was beyond helpful! I wasn't rushed, she guided and taught me things and never made me feel like she was doing me some kind of favor by helping me. These people work really hard and just can't say enough about the customer service. If I could give them a "10" on this review, believe me I would. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting Wolf Hill you are missing out. It truly is a must in the garden...

AVOID FIREWOOD FROM HERE!

A cord of firewood described by Wolf Hill as seasoned was anything but that. One out of each 10 pieces may have fit the recognized 20 percent moisture level of seasoned wood. And there was a ton of bark, rotten pieces and other junk mixed in.

Also, much of the wood was too enormous to fit in a stove and needed splitting. When these and even smaller logs were split, the core sections were green and glistening with moisture.

Sure, the wood was in a big outdoor pile that got rained on. But rain won’t go through an entire seasoned log and turn it back to unseasoned.

Definitely false advertising by Wolf Hill. For the premium they charge, plus the “privilege” of paying a $30 delivery fee, the company should be ashamed.

Luckily, American Express will back me up and refund at least some...

come here often for all of my gardening needs. have never been disappointed in the products or service. top notch.

with all the recent covid restrictions in place, the folks here have been nothing short of wonderful in terms of helping people sort through and purchase items without even seeing them. Jackie deserves a special shout out for her assistance. not only did she help me choose some plants, sight unseen, she actually delivered them to my house!!! i'm not sure this is the norm, however, there were some delays with things arriving in the store and she just decided to send them along to me. what a delight! Customer for life.
