I have been a regular cash paying customer here for about 6 or so years now. They always do a good job. Recently, they began requiring a credit card to be on file and charges in case of a missed appt. Paul was going on and on about all the people who miss appts or cancel last minute and how unfair it is, and I agree that new customers or repeat offenders should be charged, however, in all the years I've been going here, I have NEVER, not once missed an appt or been late. At my last appt, when checking out, Mary asked me to leave a credit card number on file; I refused stating that I'm a regular cash paying customer for many years and never miss my appts. She looked at Paul who looked at me and said OK. With cyber security issues so prevalent, I am very cautious with my credit and debit card info. So, today when I tried booking my 2 week appt online, I was denied 4 different OPEN appts time slots. On the 4th try, I asked if this was about the credit card, but was denied immediately without a response about my question. I tried to call, and my call was unanswered. They ALWAYS answer the phone, so clearly, I was being ignored. I guess being a loyal customer for years counts for nothing. Over the years, I have continued to go here because of Mary and the good job she does on my nails even though there have been many reasons to stay away. Twice while I was there Paul was speaking to Mary in a very harsh manor that left her in tears. The 2nd time, I said something to him and he told me to mind my own business and I didn't know anything. He was yelling at her while she was working on my feet and she was crying. Sorry, keep it at home. He repeatedly bad mouths people that disagree with him including former employees and customers. I'm sure I'll be next! I've witnessed him being rude to callers and walk-ins. The place is extremely dusty and dirty, the ceiling vents are disgusting, the bathroom is cringe-worthy; yet I continued to look the other way because Mary is always kind and does a good job on my nails. Shame on me. So, moving on...No problem for me as there are plenty of quality nail...

I should start by saying that this was our second time going here. The first time was a better experience, so we were happy to make another appointment here. Unfortunately, the second time will be our last time.
I should have been more weary when I noticed that they offer extra loyalty points which can be used for discounts if you leave positive Google reviews and show them the review at your next appointment.
Pros: The gel manicures received were good quality. I believe her name is Viv - she was fantastic. Very thorough and did great work. The staff is accommodating for walk-ins, and the pricing is competitive.
Cons: The tools used during the manicure appeared to be dirty and possibly not cleaned between customers? The owner also wears gloves when giving a manicure, but his one glove was completely ripped. We noticed this the first time we went, and it was ripped similarly the second time. This, mixed with the less than clean tools, gave the impression that cleanliness isn’t a priority.
Finally, the customer service from Paul was enough to turn us off from returning. My wife occasionally bites her nails, and he was quick to point this out when she first sat down for her manicure. One comment? Fine. Fair. But he made 4 to 5 comments to her while shaking his head and rushing her manicure. Read moreI moved to the area last year which is an hour away from where I previously lived. I wanted to find a nail place closer to my new location here in Tom’s River so that I did not have to commute back up North.
I ran into a kind lady at the car wash and noticed that her nails were perfectly shaped and her nails looked exactly like the quality work that I personally prefer and don’t mind paying for.
I asked her where she got them done and she gave me the information for this place, Gel Nails. I can appreciate the business here , very nice and cute place which gives a homely feel.
The owners Paul & Mary have both done my nails before and they do an amazing job. Mary did my fill in the first time I went and it was a great job. Paul is so personable and his work is great as well. Pedicure service is awesome, very satisfied with my results when I go.
They are open late, there is never a hassle to get an appointment as they accommodate and do the right thing by their customers which they care about more than the financial gain. It’s never over crowded in here, they have a system and schedule accordingly. Pricing is very reasonable and affordable which I can also appreciate.
The ambiance is amazing at this location , very peaceful , calm and relaxing. I will attach a photo from my latest visit with Paul, I let him do his own thing and surprise me with my nails and I absolutely loved the way they turned out.
