Washboard roads on the way in, but just take it slow and enjoy the views!!! BRING CASH for campground fees ($20/day) and the hot pools ($12/adult) There were several camp spots off the road on the way in, but due to fire restrictions, we chose to stay at the official campground so we could safely enjoy a campfire at night. The campground was spacious, had well maintained bathrooms and camp hosts that patrolled periodically to make sure everyone was happy and following bear country safety. My only suggestion is to check your desired camp spot for cow pies first— we spent the weekend with a family of flies. The waterfall hot spring was stunning! We laughed and had a hoot darting across the cold rushing waters to make it to the natural hot pools and enjoy the surrounding views and company of other travelers. The established Granite Hot Pools were fantastic! The host was kind and gave us a recommendation of where to cold plunge down by the bridge. They have a small variety of snacks to purchase as well. The views were breathtaking and really provided a spiritual relaxing experience. The tourism has picked up within the last few years we've been going, but the hosts are doing an amazing job at maintaining the area and respecting the...
Read moreSo sad to leave this review because I grew up going to granite hotsprings and I love the place. I've probably been there at least 40 times in my lifetime, but this year we had the worst experience. I get that they have to make accommodations for covid and we were expecting that. What we were not expecting was to pay the full all day price (8$ per person) for only 1 hour of swimming. When we paid we were not informed of this detail, we assumed when our hour was up we could come back later for another hour. The 8$ has always been a day pass in the past. But nope we were told if we wanted to come back we would have to each pay another 8$. The other thing the park ranger failed to inform us was that your hour does not start when you get in the pool but on the hour. Since we got there 15 min after the hour started we only got about 40 minutes of swimming. I get starting on the hour but we would have waited 45 minutes for the next hour to start if we had known. Just really poor communication from the ranger and price gouging due to covid. Not cool at all. Hopefully this will just be temporary and things will get back to...
Read moreWe enjoyed the Hot Springs experience, though the drive to get there on the 10 miles of dirt road was not so great. More potholes and random spring holes that made the drive slow and very bumpy. Gratefully the drive was only 10 miles on rocks and dirt. Wink, wink!🙃😉 The hot Springs were fun for my grandkids, very warm and they couldn’t stay in very long due to the heat. It’s and experience people should try at least once. Take your camera because you can get some magnificent shots of nature at its best... many colorful wildflowers, mountain splendor. Fun to see the Spring running out of the mountain and filling the pool. The setting was rustic and very beautiful and the scenery was amazing on the entire drive. Was hoping to see some wildlife but didn’t. If it were not for the 10 mile pot hole and washboard dirt road, I would have rated it a 5 star experience for the springs and...
