I visited with my girlfriend when we both needed haircuts. We chose it because the store advertises the use of nature-friendly products, and we wanted to support such a store. Issues: -The store needs to be updated. The music and theme of the store are very 80s, which was novelty, but the style books are all from the 80s/90s which renders them useless and hilarious. Fashion changes so quickly. It really felt like going back in time to visit this place. -The service is awkward. When we walked in, first the owner asked us to fill out papers with all our information on them. I got an email later, and a phone call from the owner asking which apartment number was mine. How unwanted. It felt very forced. Following with the trend of awkwardness, the actual interaction with the barber/stylist (who is also the owner) was painfully awkward. My girlfriend was very quiet, and he forced conversation. I was fairly talkative, but to me he did the exact opposite and seemed to avoid my attempts at conversation, preferring silence. It was an uncomfortable experience. -Finally, the actual haircuts. We both didn't think he did what we asked for. We both brought in photos that we wanted him to replicate (both straightforward and simple cuts), but we both left disappointed. He was unable to replicate the photos. (mine was of myself). --A bonus complaint: My girlfriend and I have nearly the same haircut, but they charged her $5 more literally just because she is a woman.
We like supporting local businesses, but we will not be coming back to this salon. I strongly recommend going...
Read moreI recently visited Park East Salon and had the pleasure of working with Carey—and wow, what an experience! This was my first time getting my hair professionally done in two years, and during that time, I had box-dyed my hair every color under the sun: brown, black, blue, and red. Needless to say, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Carey was absolutely amazing.
From the moment I walked in, the salon had a laid-back and welcoming vibe. Carey took the time to understand what I wanted and gave me great advice based on the current state of my hair. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, and it’s clear he really knows what he’s doing. I felt completely at ease trusting him with my hair.
The pricing is very fair—competitive even—and the quality of service you’re getting makes it even more worth it. Carey was easy to talk to, making the whole process enjoyable, and the results were better than I could have hoped for. I’m a silent person and he wasn’t pushy about it at all.
I left the salon feeling like a brand-new person, and I’ll absolutely be going back to see Carey again. If you’re looking for a stylist who’s talented, personable, and can handle any hair challenge, I highly recommend Park East Salon and ask for...
Read moreI usually dont like how my haircuts end up because it seems like it's not their hair they are cutting. However Carey took his time to detail and perfect everything out. I mentioned something when we started on the second haircut about the first and he immediately took the situation into his hands figuratively and literally on how to make sure it would not be like that again. It was just where on both sides I wanted my beard to begin ...probably my lopheadedness didn't help the first time. I have known this guy for over 25 years and I usually dont trust people with my hair as my father cut my hair for the better part of my life but I will be going to noone else but Carey until he either goes out of business or can no longer cut hair ...either way I am a customer and...
