Taj Salon — Local services in Jacksonville

Had a Groupon..........Debra Metcalf was the stylist.... she is an in demand/ busy lady but was able to get in within a week after calling. I am picky.........really picky and don't want the stylist telling me how she is going to do my hair. Suggestions are great but in the end I am the one looking at my face/hair every day. This being said, she gives suggestions as she is cutting. Great highlights, fantastic cut. NO COMPLAINTS........ she handles herself very calmly when confronted with customers who are irritable. Doesn't not lose her cool.. Very impressed.... I believe I have finally found my permanent hair stylist. She is dedicated to pleasing the customer, to her children and spending quality time with them and all their activities.. Love a person with their priorities in place and the courage to follow them. Was never greeted when I walked in. I waited 20 minutes & then Debra finally came up front, without an apology for making me wait. She was a referral, so I thought she was good. NOT! I wanted all over blonde high lights. Showed pics - she said she "didn't have time to see my pics." Being a new client, I was nervous & had questions & concerns. She was rude, impatient & talked down to me. No shock here - I left with a full head of heavy LOW lights - EXACTLY the opposite of what I showed & explained! It was awful! I was a brunette! EXACT opposite from the blonde I had discussed. She gave me what SHE wanted - not what I wanted & wouldn't fix for 2 weeks out. So I went to a totally different salon (a different friend’s referral), explained same thing, showed pics, asked questions and got exactly what I wanted. I love Taj Salon..The location has convenient parking and and the decor is beautiful!!. The staff and clients provide a friendly atmosphere..and the service is impeccable. From mani/pedi to cuts color and blow outs everyone is educated with the most current trends. The products are of the best quality and prices affordable. The owners Trudy and Dee have been in the Jacksonville area more than 30 years...Dee has been coloring cutting conditioning my hair for all of those many years.
