America's Thrift Stores & Donation Center — Local services in Jasper

Y'all America's Thrift Store is not American. By far, there is nothing American about them and they do NOTHING for their local communities but profit from their kindness. I stopped buying clothes from them years ago because I could get new things online cheaper than what they charge for used. Today, I was flabbergasted when I was charged a new price for a very used book. When I think of the hundreds that I have donated to these crooks, it physically makes me ill. Their profit ratio is 100 percent off the backs of kind people who donate with the hopes of helping those less fortunate. Don't do it! We have other better organizations in our area that don't take free from others and profit at 100 percent without helping anyone. Let's support those better organizations and make this place go away. Today, I walked in and out for the last time. Just remember. They made you wear masks during COVID supporting communistic ideas. I have shopped thrift stores all around the south east and this thrift store in jasper Al is the most ridiculously overpriced store I’ve visited. Clothing Items that were far from new- definitely did not have new tags - are priced at 15.00-24.00!! I’ve been in this store a few different times and the gauged prices have been consistent. I’m shocked that so many people shop here still. I guess because it’s one of the only stores in the area. With these prices you are much better off driving to Birmingham and buying brand new clothes. The furniture section was gross. When I opened the door on a sewing cabinet a huge spider and it’s web was front and center. The other furniture pieces had leaves and cobwebs in them too. I had enjoyed shopping there until today. As I went to the register the woman took a dress I had, looked at the tag and just walked away. When she returned after 2 or 3 mins. The dress was double the price. When I asked why she says, "If a tag is altered in any way we have to retag it." So not only was I left to wait, they also tried to double the price on me AND accuse me of fraud!!!! I am beyond upset of being accused of such nonsense. Do NOT waste your time OR support this company in any way. They have raised all those prices and clearly are out to rip people off. If I could give a negative star...
