I have been taking my kids to Lauren Hair Salon on Fairbanks N. Houston for about three years, drawn by its convenient location and skilled barbers. However, our last visit was highly disappointing.
I forgot to bring cash and attempted to use my credit card, only to be informed by the owner that she would impose a fee for the transaction. She insisted that only cash (which I didn't bring) or Zelle was acceptable, which I find uncomfortable. Her explanation came off as abrupt and lacking professionalism, leaving me frustrated.
It's essential for businesses to communicate their payment policies upfront, especially those that affect customer experience. The owner's decision to impose such a fee is understandable, but it should never come at the cost of customer service. Unfortunately, the owner’s rude and demanding demeanor was a shocking departure from our previous experiences.
