I absolutely LOVE coming here to hike. It has 2 ways to get to the falls, the easy way and the difficult way. I always take the difficult way which is a lot of rock climbing and definitely gives you your workout! I would recommend that particular path for experienced hikers and those that are perhaps a bit more fit, there are a lot of dangerous spots that you need to be very careful with and watch your step, especially when it’s slippery. Otherwise this is wonderful! You’re fully immersed in nature and the numerous waterfalls you encounter along the way makes for great photography!

We were hesitant to try and do the "closed" section where all the waterfalls are especially after reading many of the reviews. We did it anyway. Our suggestion, if you decide to do it, is to go up the closed section rather than down. It is very rocky and sometimes wet, but it's easier to climb up than to hike down. We had no issues or problems, and the views of the falls were magnificent. We would not have seen any falls if we did not do this section. Side note -- we are semi-experienced recreational hikers in our 60's.

I went to the area and picked a random park to go to. This is where I ended up. I went with no plan and definitely should have brought water instead of a RedBull. I didn’t follow the path and climbed up a cliff that was along the train tracks which was conveniently enough like very large steps. It was about an hour or so when I ran into the trail so it was a rough climb. I followed the path and get to the point where there’s 2 signs, 1 says to the falls, the other to shortcut trail or something. This was ā€œbasically the topā€ said a hiker that’s been there before and never got to the topšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. My goal was the top but not being prepared enough to bring water or follow the trail it was good enough for this time. Relaxed by the waterfall for a while and it was getting kinda late so time to head back down because it took a really long time to get up there. The trail is pretty steep and rocky and apparently people have gotten hurt says the sign I saw when I was leaving that warned of the dangers (and no sneakers). šŸ˜‚ It’s been a long time since I’ve done this but going down the trail, I was basically running and tip toeing rock to rock and jumping down from small ledges. It was definitely really reckless and dangerous but I was having a blast and couldn’t believe I still had that kind of footwork and luckily didn’t hurt myself. I was at the bottom in maybe 15 minutes. I even recorded myself going down the trail and it’s awesome, being 37 I was actually impressed that I could do that. I’m starting a mechanic job soon so I’m gonna be on a regular schedule for the first time in a while so this was a nice way to just get away from everything and everyone for a while. I’m probably gonna do this a lot more often now though. I stopped watching tv for the most part and replaced it with learning about stocks and enjoying what Pennsylvania has to offer and surprise waterfalls and relaxing by myself after a climb is way better...

Great, completely shaded, moderately challenging hike. I would say this is not for inexperienced / beginner hikers. If you aren't willing to take the stairs at the empire state building, you probably shouldn't do this hike. We found it to be the right amount of challenge for our active family including our 6 year old and with one of adults wearing a baby. The signage wasn't super great. I think we ended up hiking the falls trail but started at the Glen onoko trail head. We enjoyed doing the hike early before it was crowded, mid week, during summer. There was also trash everywhere. If you do this hike, do others a favor and leave nature as you found it. Bring your trash out with you. Perhaps the park could add trash receptacles at trail...
