I first found Nic from the beautiful pictures he posts on Instagram of the Joshua Tree area, including Big Bear and a few other beautiful spots. I reached out to him because I wanted someone experienced to train me on how to use the 4x4 system on my truck and also how to go offroading safely. We connected first on Instagram and then shifted over to email. Nic asked me a lot of questions and he put together an epic itinerary of off-road driving, sightseeing, and special background. He is local to the area and extremely knowledgeable about many off road trails and spots inside the park that are not on any standard maps. He also has extensive information about the geology and ecology of the area which are fascinating topics. Nic taught how me to use the various drive modes on my truck and also how to navigate obstacles safely. He showed us stunning scenery that isn't in any guidebook. At the end of the day he also provided us an extensive list of places to visit inside and outside the park, including ones that are only accessible by four wheel drive vehicle. For the rest of our stay in the Joshua Tree area we followed all of Nic's advice and we saw absolutely incredible things while staying mostly away from the most "touristy" spots found in most guidebooks and apps. Nic is also friendly, approachable, patient and enthusiastic--he's a wonderful person with whom to spend time. Whether you have very little experience or a lot, bring your rig and your sense of adventure and you will have the time of your life with Nic. My wife and I are already planning our next trip to the area and we can't wait to work...

My wife and I wanted to explore the desert in Joshua Tree, but we knew it was risky to go off-road without any cell service or guidance. That's why we booked a full day tour with Nic, and it was the best decision ever! Nic is not only a skilled and experienced off-road driver, but also a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He showed us the most amazing trails and views, and taught us about the history of Joshua Tree in including great stories about the families that first settled here. He also gave us tips and taught us how to off-road safely and confidently, and challenged us to drive over obstacles that seemed impossible. We had a blast the whole time, and the 6 hours flew by like nothing. The next day, he even sent us some useful resources on Joshua Tree and off-roading. Nic is truly a special person, and we feel lucky to have met him and learned from him. If you are looking for an unforgettable desert adventure, don't hesitate to book a tour with Nic. You...

The JTOR experience was EPIC! I’d never driven on any off-road trails, so I was excited (and a little nervous.) We went on the Berdoo Canyon route.

We got briefed at the beginning of the tour. Nic talked us through the route, showed us how to air down our tires, checked to make sure we all had full tanks of gas and enough water/food – since it was going to be a full day trip. We were given walkie talkies so we could communicate throughout the tour. Cell service is not available once you're on the trails, so these were incredibly important.

The whole trip took about 6 hours from start to finish. We stopped along the way to check out the incredible scenery. Nic was very knowledgeable of the park and gave us very specific instructions when it came to getting down some of the more difficult parts of the trail. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone who is looking to get an exclusive look at the park and drive on some...
