
Some of the most unfriendly staff i have encountered in the nonprofit space. Abhorrent treatment of volunteers; my team of volunteers were berated multiple times with foul language, whilst other staff were completely unhelpful on projects. multiple instances of unsafe workplace behavior from staff (throwing rocks, not equipping volunteers with proper training, no hard hats / gloves, negligence of emergency contact). I absolutely support the mission of desert conservation but really hope that volunteers are treated with respect in the future, particularly when out in the desert...

I can’t in good conscience give a positive review of the company because of how leadership mistreats and underpays hard working, passionate hourly employees. I worked for the organization for over a year, having entered with high hopes and left with disappointment. Some small companies just don’t have the capacity for comprehensive Human Resources, and it’s a shame given how salient the role of the organization has in the high desert community. Read moreI went to their plant sale for the specific purpose of finding inexpensive Palo Verde trees. Their published price list posted on their website had a couple of special priced trees and bushes at six dollars in one gallon pots. All of the rest of the one gallon pots were twelve dollars and above. I got there at the door opening. I found eight Palo Verde trees that had their leaves stripped off but very hard looking trunks in one gallon pots for one dollar each. Get there early next time, and ask the help about...
