Back in 2020 I came on the market in search for a new pickup. I searched around starting with the Ford Ranger. Although the Ranger looked nice, the interior was too small and crammed for my liking. I also wanted a pickup with a full bed and crew cab and ended up checking out the Chevy Colorado and let me tell you, this fit the bill! I drove down to Guaranty Chevrolet from Corvallis and met Brandon Whittington. He let me test drive the 2020 Colorado and I fell in love with Chevy instantly. Sadly, due to the pandemic the choices for available vehicles were slim and ordering one was kinda tough with the microchip delays. Over the past few years, Brandon kept in touch and finally in the Spring of this year (2022), I was ready to order exactly what I was looking for. With the help of Brandon, I was able to custom order exactly what I wanted to fit my lifestyle and budget. In March I made the order. I was expecting the vehicle to take 4-6 months to be built and was ready for the wait. On the first week of April, I got the unexpected message from Brandon that my Colorado was starting production on the 4th. Exciting news! Again, I was expecting this truck to be finished in 4-6 months. A week later, another surprise! My truck finished production and was waiting to board a train in Missouri. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Fast forward a month later, May 4th. I get the call from Brandon that my truck had arrived! The financing application process only took a matter of minutes on my computer and Brandon called me right back to say I could get my truck that day if I wanted. I said, ABSOLUTELY! Without a ride to the dealership, Brandon drove over an hour to pick me up to bring me to Guaranty to pick up my new Colorado Z71! The paperwork took a little bit while they detailed the truck but let me tell you, the Folks at Guaranty went above and beyond to take care of me. Being a veteran, Brandon helped me get all of the discounts and rebates available for me and within no-time, I was on the road, driving home in my brand new, gorgeous Colorado. He also sat in the vehicle and helped me set up my OnStar account and taught me everything I needed to get on the road safely that day. I tell you what, I have never been happier than I am behind the wheel of my new Chevy. It has been 18 years since I have had a new vehicle and every time I look at this truck, the idea of owning this vehicle is all surreal to me. The folks at Guaranty really came through for me as a veteran and an individual, I cannot appreciate Brandon and the folks at the dealership more. It is great to now be a part of the Chevy and Guaranty family. I wouldn't recommend anyone else out there. Much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my vehicle to Guaranty Chevrolet after my heater core failed me and I couldn't find availability at any shops or dealerships in the Eugene/Springfield area. They confirmed my heater core failed due to some kind of oil crossover and recommended replacing my heater core and cooling system components. I had made some previous repairs and voiced my concern about possible engine problems causing other parts to fail. I was given a guarantee my engine was fine and was not the cause. I had the repairs done. Before paying, I asked again about the engine because I was borrowing the funds for the repair and didn't want my engine failing me six months down the road. I was given the same guarantee again that my engine was fine and would not fail me. I paid for the repairs and had to bring it back because of fluid loss and I couldn't remove the radiator cap. they topped off the fluids and replaced the thermostat housing because it was cracked. They said radiator cap was fine. It was not. I continued to lose fluids so replaced my overflow that I had just replaced 3 months previously and the fluid leak stopped. My oil light came on so I had an oil change done and the light stayed on after being reset. My engine failed 3 months after I had the repairs done at the dealership. I had it towed back to them and after getting the runaround was told I had complete engine failure, $10,000 to repair. I couldn't get an explanation from them as to why it failed after I was told it wouldn't so had it towed to my place of work only to discover it had been rummaged through and items stolen. I reached out to the dealership and left one of the managers a message explaining the situation and asking about a remedy and if they had security cameras to find out how my vehicle had been accessed. I still have not heard from them and two of the items stolen were urn necklaces hanging from my mirror with my nephews ashes who recently passed. Irreplaceable. My advice to you is get any guarantees in writing and empty your vehicle before leaving it.
Edit 6/19: I called a couple weeks after I saw the response. The general manager no longer worked there. The woman I spoke to took my information to pass along directly to the owner and said I would be contacted no later than the end of that day. I've never been contacted. They may not have used the word 'guarantee' but I was told my engine was fine and shouldn't fail multiple times. Sadly my experience with the dealership has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHere we are now to buy our 2nd car from Guaranty Chevrolet! 7 months ago our high school grad scored a nice Camry from Patrick Ramm. The quality of the car and the whole dealership experience with them was such a relief that they are now our āgo toā for cars.
Fast forward to now, we need a reliable car for my wife. I called Patrick and told him weāre looking for a compact SUV. Well it didnāt take long and he had about 8 or so for us to look at from Chevy, Kia, Jeep, Honda, Toyota... holy cow!
Patrick pulled together a LOT of vehicles for us to check out and it was surprising just how different they all are and feel, so I am very grateful for his due diligence! He even texted us some videos he took of the inventory, how cool is that!
We ended up going for a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander with only 27k miles! This car is so solid! Fully loaded, great mileage, a four cylinder that surprised me by actually having some fantastic acceleration from a standing stop. Popped the hood and everything was freshly pressure washed, making it easy to see the quality and integrity of the hoses, belts, wiring, battery... all was fantastic for basically being a new car at a pre-owned price!
What was awkward was that their sticker price was already down around where we were hoping to negotiate them down to, so we were ready to haggle and laughed that we didnāt really need to.
During all this we met another associate Tyler Christiance who manages the Truck lot. Quite a good selection there for me when I finally drive the wheels off my current truck. Tyler was very knowledgeable about some of the various components of the Outlander and was instrumental in helping us negotiate. (These guys are cool!) We then went to do the final paperwork and Michael Conrad (business manager) helped us there. He was very articulate in explaining the various components of the warranties and financing... he made sure we absolutely understood what was being signed for and the options we had, Thank You Michael!
Iāll be back when Iām ready to talk Truck, Thank You Guaranty! You folks are awesome! ....and Thank You Sue for helping us sort out a number...
