We have been off and on clients at The Dog Dive since 2018. The owners, Beth and Darryl, have been through a lot and their business reflects that.
The pool and the main space are no longer well maintained, and it’s been nearly impossible to schedule appointments because they rarely answer the phone and the voicemail has been full for months. They have online scheduling software that encourages customers to set appointments on their website, but it is currently not functional. Over a year ago we actually made an appointment over the phone, but when we showed up, we discovered they had decided to close for the day and never notified us.
While our dog enjoyed his swim with Beth, we were disappointed in the experience overall. The Dog Dive has always felt a smidge rough around the edges, but today it just felt very unclean.
When we were leaving we attempted to make another appointment and it seems like regular clients with standing appointments take up the available morning slots, leaving new or occasional clients with no access.

Read moreMy only advice is to CALL and schedule. Don't book online. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this place enough! I would drive across the state, the country, the globe to have my dog swim here!
Beth had a variety of treats for dogs to use during their swimming lessons. My boy has severe food allergies and can only have salmon/fish cookies, so this made a great first impression!
My dog isn't nervous, but he can be frightful in new situations. Beth saw his heart right away. She met him where he was, pushed when he could handle it, and let him breathe when he needed it. Her extensive training in dog behavior did not go unnoticed! She was so in-tune with his body language and cues. She knows what she's doing, 110%.
After our session, my pup was confident, happy, and proud of himself for his hard and brave work overcoming his nerves around the pool. He was practically swimming laps around me at the end! We can't wait...
Read moreMy labrador Koal was just a baby when I first started with dog dive. I really wanted him to learn to swim well and safely in all situations. His progress was wonderful! Once he met and got used to Beth, Mary and Daryll he was a whole different dog!!!! Today he still goes to Dog Dive and he runs in and up the ramp impatiently ready to swim. Im an LVT in Michigan and have referred several of my patients with injuries or those in need of swimming therapy to them. Excellent bunch of people and an excellent and much needed small business in the area. I would recommend them to anyone I know with the interest in having their dog swim or to those who have dogs recovering from an injury or in need of physical therapy. They do their research and require the veterinary paperwork which is what makes them...
