I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I want to share my disappointment with the unprofessionalism and lack of consideration displayed by Southern College of Science. I was concerned about this school, but I still filled out the enrollment form. However, after waiting a week and not receiving any response, I called to inquire about the CNA program. The person I spoke to was helpful and informed me that it might take some time to process my enrollment due to the person in charge being on vacation. She also provided details about the cost and the upcoming class scheduled to start on September 2, 2024.
The following week, I called again to ask if I could come to the school, fill out an application and make the payment. I was informed that I could do so. There was a sense of urgency on my end to enroll quickly to attend the CNA class due to my work schedule needing to be altered.
When I arrived at the school to fill out the application, no one was at the front desk. After waiting for several minutes and trying to get someone's attention, I was finally given the application to fill out. On August 5th, I paid the class in full and handed in the paperwork. However, after asking, I didn't receive a copy of the folder or any confirmation. I assumed that they would contact me if anything was missing or if I needed any further information before the class started.
Fast forward to September 3, 2024, I left a voicemail at 3:34 PM to confirm the start time of the class at 5 PM. Nearly three hours later, at 4:57 PM, I received a call saying there was no CNA program. I was pissed as I had already adjusted my work schedule and given up shifts to attend this program, only to be told at the last minute that there was no class. I expressed my frustration. I also told them; I should not have applied to Southern College of Science once I saw the staff was mostly black and African. I should have known not to expect professionalization. But the fact that the staff was mostly black was important to me. I always try to support this environment.
The lack of communication and unprofessionalism at Southern College of Science has caused significant inconvenience and financial loss to me, and I am deeply disappointed with the way things have...

Read moreAbsolutely loved my experience here. The teachers Mrs.MJ and Mrs.Stacy are both fantastic and are BSNs with 30+ years of experience in the medical field. Not only do they take the time to teach their students the skills and knowledge on the modules, they also encourage and uplift them. I, myself am about to start nursing school and was unsure if I was qualified or have what it takes to do the program but after my experience here, I have confidence and know what to expect thanks to them. Best private college to attend for CNA, CPR, and...
