This is a great aquatic center to cool off. We came here because nearby Rochester closed its pools during a heat wave because of people misbehaving (that's why we can't have nice things) . Kasson's center is more than a pool. It has two diving boards, a pair of big, fun slides and splash pad/fountains and shallow areas for the little ones. There's plenty of pool lounge chairs to bask in the sun. There's big sturdy shades that won't blow away with wind and picnic tables in the shade by the concession stand. The stand sells hot dogs, pizza slices, pretzels, nachos, popcorn, candy, pop, water and popsicles to cool off. The pool only takes cash or checks, so plan accordingly. Lockers are available inside the changing rooms or poolside but bring your own lock for your valuables. Plenty of parking, north of the entrance, though we parked on the street (in the shade) south of the center. All in all, my kid had a blast and...
Read moreI would say this place is amazing. It is right next to a park. They have 2 good sized pools. One with water slides (one fast and one more younger-one friendly). The child area is great for toddlers and young children with a small slide and fountains that spray and pour as well as some other child friendly features. The other pool has deeper water for more advanced swimmers with 2 diving boards and a small rock climbing wall right over its own section of water. It is clean and has plenty of attentive life guards on duty. There is even a concession stand that sells many items including ice cream, slushes, nachos and soft pretzels with cheese. At the time I went it cost $6/ person to enter. There are large changing rooms/bathrooms. I cant rememberber if there were any lockers as I don't have a...
Read moreAs a tax paying resident of Kasson, I am pretty disappointed in our aquatic center for the following reasons.
The heater in the kiddie pool is still not working. It has been broken since opening this year, making it useless for small children.
Rude lifeguards. I was unaware of the no life jacket policy, and rudely told that it wasn't allowed, I had a small floatie for my 5 year old daughter. I was also rudely told she could not hang on to a rope. Meanwhile Tommy 11 year old, riding off the high of his 64 oz. slushie, is running like Usain Bolt with diarrhea, and no whistle or a whisper.
Overcrowding. Since the kiddie has been rendered useless. EVERYONE utilizes the main pool. Making it overcrowded.
I will...
