I have been to this store 3-4 times in the past month. Initially, I went to get airbrush paint and supplies for a Master Chief Helmet I had 3D printed for a friend that I was painting. The owner at the store is a kind man, and helped me to identify what paints would work best for my application, and did not push me to buy anything. I appreciated his help.
I went back again a second time with my brother in law who is in to GUNPLA. I know nothing about GUNPLA. However, again, the gentleman at the store was very informative and kind. We got more paint for a different project, and while I was going to just buy a bunch of random paints "just in case" he steered me in the direction of only buying what I know I need and not buying random extra stuff.
The latest time we went, they were having a sale on Gundam Model kits, 15% off. We took this opportunity to buy a few kits and paints. There was one kit we were iffy on (PG Unicorn Gundam) which the shop owner recommended we not buy and rather buy a kit online that he does not sell currently, because he feels it is better for my use case and all inclusive.
I want to detail these interactions to exemplify that the owner of this store is a kind person, who will not try to oversell you on stuff, even if you are ignorant to all things GUNPLA and paint/maker. I do appreciate this very much.
I will continue to shop here, and I would be willing to pay more here than I would online or other local shops, in order to support this small business and this...
Read moreThis is an excellent hobby shop. The people who run the shop are very nice, and the shop itself is paradise for me because they have all of the stuff that I’d normally have to order online and their prices are overall much better than the prices on Amazon and they are located locally. They’ve got a large selection of Vallejo acrylic paints, and an equally large, if not bigger selection of Vallejo acrylic air paints, they’ve got a large selection of Tamiya paints and products from panel liner, to tape to cement. They’ve got just about every tool you can think of from files to sprue cutters to clips and mats. The quality of the products they carry is significantly better than any chain retailers, and they have a much wider selection than you’ll find at other chain retailers.
But that’s not the best part. They’ve also got a respectable selection of model tanks, fighter jets and cars, from Tamiya, Italeri, Revell and Academy, and then there is their selection of Gundam models which is just huge.
Either way, this hobby shop is my new one-stop shop for all of my scale modeling needs, and I can get everything I could possibly need there without having to wait for it to ship, and at a better price too. They’ve got...
Read moreIf you're looking for gunpla kits, please go here instead of gundam kingdom. This place is way better in so many ways and like many other reviews, the owner is super dope.
His website does not lie in terms of what they have in stock, as not only will he actually have good stuff, but the website perfectly reflects what he has in store. An odd nitpick but I think a reasonable one to have, being gunpla is not an easy hobby to come around in Houston and this place is 40 minutes away from me.
To build off the owner being super dope, I had brough the RG God Gundam and needed replacement parts. Turns out the kit did not have the bluefin warning sticker and I had called him about it. He was very understanding and even offered to email bandai himself if I couldn't figured it out, which I did but the gesture was stilll very appreciated.
Could have not wished for a better place to go gunpla shopping for, (besides location)and will always be my go to...
